How much of this actually exists? Annie-may that's so embarrassingly incompetent that you can actually sit through and laugh at ironically, like a hilariously bad movie? It's normally a lot harder to do because every bit of animation has thought and effort put into it, so it just comes off as intolerably bad when it's bad. Unlike an incompetent movie, which is much easier for someone with a handheld camera to half-ass their way through to a finished product. Pic related, Psychic Wars is fucking terrible.

Code Geass might be the most egregious example where every single country became the United States [insert country name here] (even when it makes no fucking sense like Japan) under the system of an even worse UN. Somehow weebtards still try to paint the story as anti-imperialism when the villain main scheme is the anti-communist dog whistle of “making everyone apart of a hivemind/the same”. https://codegeass.fandom.com/wiki/United_Federation_of_Nations

Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar (or Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari) is some of the most unintentionally hilarious and terrible harem anime out there. It begins in a way that build intrigue... and then throws it away for a weird fucking power-fantasy and other insanity reminiscent of Infinite Stratos. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Tenchi_Muyo!_War_on_Geminar_episodes

In all honesty, being a vtuber seems like a better gig than being a regular streamer, the layer between the person and the persona probably absorbs a bit of the impact of death threats and the general unpleasantness of being a public person. Still probably a pretty crappy job tho, unless you hit it really big like hololive (and even then it still sounds kinda shit)

Favorite Simpsons Episode/ Gerneral thread おたく 11/27/2020 (Fri) 00:22:55 No. 5426 [Reply]
Yes I know, it's an anime board. But since this board is relatively dead, how about a nice curve ball to spice it up? if worse comes to worse more the thread to /hobby/ Anyway, I just recently watched season 1 - 9 (and some one offs) and I was wondering what's your guys opinions on the show? I personally enjoyed it, with these being my top three: 1) Bart gets an F 2) Homers Enemy 3) E-I-(Annoyed Grunt) It's pretty obvious why 1 & 3 are solid, but I don't see people talk about 2 that much. Which I don't get why. Homers Enemy; Frank Grimes, is obviously the personification of the "dream American worker". The dream worker who in any dire situation will simply just "pull up his boot straps" and work harder to get a better life. The reality is though is that, no one actually cares about him going through those hardships. Yes, while Burns did originally try to hire him after seeing his struggle, he was predictably ignored after Burns found the next shiny thing to gawk at, and the hardships of Frank was quickly ignored by the rest of society. Maybe it was obvious and I'm slow, but the lesson that it taught is still a great reminder, that is: a system that abandons you to unnecessary hardships is not going to care if you actually succeeded in those hardships. This reality is hammered in further with Homer existence, one who has gotten off lucky and lived by all accounts a fairly fulfilling life. Any mess ups that Homer has cause is ignored since as long as profit is made, they don't care what he does. And his death is a great ending, Homer continues in the system with his actions since he cares not for the boss "making" his precious money, while Frank takes the approach that work is a virtue and mocks homer only to get killed accidentally when taking his mockery to the extreme.

>>5982 Some like it, others find it disgusting too and prefer cute bishies or something in between. It also depends on the artist (some of them draw truly ridiculous, grotesque muscles and dicks that I can't help but wonder who actually faps to that shit). But it seems that gay men tend to like it a lot more. I think it was in the last decade that yaoi and bara (and the respective styles associated with them) began to "merge" somewhat and the result became more popular than before.
>>5982 I don't like excessively muscular women, but a buff girl can be beautiful if they're not mindlessly pumping iron.
>>5982 Muscular women are hot. Some of the stuff posted here are gay as fuck though (which is also hot). I'm a big fan of mangaka ranging from Dairoku Tenmaou Great to Jiraiya.

>>5982 I am guessing most women have more positive attitude to muscular men than other way around. I think the problem is that when people say muscular woman, they imagine roided out bodybuilder, instead of just a woman who works out a lot. Personally, I love muscular women. The size, the strength, the fact that there is so much going on on their bodies, you can see every muscle rippling under the skin.

post your ideas about epic anime: >battle shouen stylized seinnen but instead of battles there is science and research related stuff, like conferences, and data gathering >main character is PhD student at tokyo university researching something very technical and complicated with the objective of curing world hunger or something. >some ideas for arcs >MC battling for funding with someone trying to use the money for something fucking useless but profitable >MC sabotaging people trying to use his work for evil, like building weapons, or kill people directly or indirectly >MC fights against large corporation trying to sabotage his work, because it cuts their profits >MC realises his scientific approach was wrong and has to pivot several times, and has to learn new skills (training arcs) >MC realises his knowledge is incomplete and has to go to a master from another discipline to teach him, he gets taught a moral lesson about the nature of science >MC's PhD master gets killed by the corporation trying to stop him, so he swears revenge on them, and uses science shit to do so

Someone's Joke response to vid related that I actually thought would make for a good anime film (or actual film). A spaghetti western where one of the main characters would be called Leo and his nickname would be "Lion" because he is brave and oversaw the region he lived in and when he dies in the end this would play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPnpN1R38Ac

An average Japanese schoolboy experiences the worst day of his life. He meets a holographic-like girl who casually informs him that he has been living in an otome raising sim and has been selected by her, the "player", as her "bachelor" to raise. If he does not get the "good ending" who knows what could happen to him! Slowly he finds out that there are other rival "bachelors" and "players", and that there are no rules to speak of in winning the heart of the (un)lucky "protagonist" girl...
The anime is a historical fiction yaoi school comedy which is set in the Soviet run Huangpu Academy. It follows the misadventures of the bishounen MC Zhou Enlai and other more ... straight communists as they attend and go about rubbing shoulders with other notable figures of 20th Chinese history and taking classes with Soviet instructors, whom could make for additional ship/pairing bait.

Yeah it's sad what Dragon Ball has devolved into. It didn't used to be this bad, the fights were entertaining, there was some nice drama and heartfelt moments, cool themes, pervy moments, excellent worldbuilding, awesome Toriyama art, etc. of course it had problems (like Goku never maturing into a responsible person with a purpose other than "get stronger" and "have fun") but that's besides the point. Super meanwhile? The only thing I could praise is the occasional cool soundtrack, that's literally it.
>>5872 Isnt that just nostalgia talking because you were watching it as a child? I started watching Dragon Ball in my early 20s, and I must say, overally Super is better show than Z. The fights are much better choreographed and animated now then they ever were. With the exception of Sayan invasion, they had all the same formula of villains completely dominate the heroes => heroes power up and dominate the villains => villains powers up and dominate the heroes =>heroes power up etc. etc. Fights were always completely one sided and the sides constantly kept switching. The animation during combat was like 5 frames looping.
>>5873 Dragonball should have ended with Namek blowing up. That doesn't mean Super is good.
>>5861 Obviously Mr.Popo >>5873 >fights are better choreographed/animated Only because of the debacle with the movie where the fuckups were so obvious only the most inattentive missed them. Super had a bigger budget and isn't hand-drawn unlike DBZ. DBZ had some bad parts but it was overall really fun, if stupid at times... this is solved by having DBZA which is peak Dragon Ball.
