This is driving me crazy. I check here and the Tomoko board. There is a pic of her showing a boy her feet and it has text of her saying "If I let you smell it will you be my friend?" I know its on this image board somewhere. I just cannot remember what thread it was in since I thought it was one of those two. Its driving me insane. Help me anons!

Anon, I've been posting in both threads since they were made, that post has never been on those threads. It may have been on /siberia/ or you're confusing something you saw elsewhere with this thread. But if you do find it, do post it, sound's hilarious.

Yes I know, it's an anime board. But since this board is relatively dead, how about a nice curve ball to spice it up? if worse comes to worse more the thread to /hobby/

Anyway, I just recently watched season 1 - 9 (and some one offs) and I was wondering what's your guys opinions on the show? I personally enjoyed it, with these being my top three:
1) Bart gets an F
2) Homers Enemy
3) E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)

It's pretty obvious why 1 & 3 are solid, but I don't see people talk about 2 that much. Which I don't get why.

Homers Enemy; Frank Grimes, is obviously the personification of the "dream American worker". The dream worker who in any dire situation will simply just "pull up his boot straps" and work harder to get a better life. The reality is though is that, no one actually cares about him going through those hardships. Yes, while Burns did originally try to hire him after seeing his struggle, he was predictably ignored after Burns found the next shiny thing to gawk at, and the hardships of Frank was quickly ignored by the rest of society.

Maybe it was obvious and I'm slow, but the lesson that it taught is still a great reminder, that is: a system that abandons you to unnecessary hardships is not going to care if you actually succeeded in those hardships.

This reality is hammered in further with Homer existence, one who has gotten off lucky and lived by all accounts a fairly fulfilling life. Any mess ups that Homer has cause is ignored since as long as profit is made, they don't care what he does.

Any fans here?

I read:

Freesia

years ago.

Loved them all. Be warned of adult themes.

His artstyle is so unique and amazing. I'm reading Joshi Kouhei right now. It's about some Evangelion-ish future where men pilot these giant robots from another dimension that look like Japanese schoolgirls but eventually they get psychotic and think they're actually schoolgirls.

If I remember correctly he had a manga about a guy surviving in a pos apocalyptic world with a sex robot or whatever. It wasn’t as a weird as the premise sounds! I recommend checking it out, unfortunately I don’t remember the name.

Hajime no Ippo mangaka George Morikawa sparked controversy on Japanese Twitter for complaining about art made by staff of the animated adaptation of his manga…
Morikawa's original posts were about him fearing counterfeits of his own art, but he went on to discuss artwork being done at overseas events, the fact that animators don't necessarily have the right to do it, especially if they profit off of it
This is actually a thorny, sometimes tightly controlled issue: last summer, at the Paris Japan Expo, animators Keiichi Ichikawa and Eisaku Inoue were forbidden to draw any One Piece or Saint Seiya art during signing sessions
This is also an issue in Japan. Another mangaka, Shoko Hamada, discussed not just illustrations and fan art, but artbooks sold as dôjinshi by individual animators. A good example would be Kerorira's Bocchi the Rock! artbook, one of the most prized publications of last summer's Comiket
Another infamous example of this kind of controversy is that of legendary animator and designer Tomonori Kogawa, who once sold original illustrations he made of characters from Galaxy Express 999, much to the ire of original mangaka Leiji Matsumoto….
God forbid exploited animators actually do something for themselves. I fucking love copyright law and "intellectual" property.

Why do people constantly call the saga of Tanya Mangaka a communist? just stumbled upon the guy's feed and it's full of boomer takes, SDF shilling(this is the complete antithesis of the JCP), and anti-communist retweets.

On top of that, Riyoko Ikeda(The Rose of Versailles) who was a member of the Japanese communist party in her youth is now doing interviews with LDP and butt buddies with a senior member. The Riyoko one is far more shocking than the nazi anime girl

Just watched the new season of Castlevania the other night on Netflix and it wasn't too bad. The animation seems significantly jankier this season in a lot of places and it looks like they're using the awful CG models from Berserk or Kingdom or some shit at times. A couple of the fights are really fluid and fun, but a lot just looked… bad.

Warren Ellis isn't a spectacular writer but I did like the anti-aristocrat/ruling class and anti-imperialism themes. It's pretty explicit in calling out the greed of the wealthy and the futility of imperialism, and the main characters overtly say that the ruling classes are either incapable or unwilling to help so that the only option is for people to organize themselves. I'm not sure if the multiculturalism we see in the refugee town is meant as Liberal multicult pap or as a somewhat subtle gesture towards internationalism, but I suppose it could be interpreted either way. I don't know how many black or brown people there were in 14th century Wallachia, but in the context of the show it seems like it makes sense we have vampires from Copenhagen to Cathay in on Dracula's omnicidal war, so it's easy to imagine there's a lot of population disruption going on.

Not a great season, but fun. Three Marx out of five.

I find it interesting that Toriyama himself called out the tired repetition in shonen anime today as taking from Dragon Ball or other older Shonen without being original. Naruto, One Piece and Bleach have some DBZ influence, but were clearly their own thing. Black Clover's beginning takes a lot from One Piece and Naruto (I'm going to be Wizard King! vs Hokage or Pirate King).
