C&C Tiberium Saga Comrade 08/23/2020 (Sun) 02:06:47 No. 3891 [Reply]
NOD OR GDI? Scrin/third way acelerationism doesn't count, neither TW4. Personally I play NOD because I feel powerful and at the same time guided by the "people's" Messiah, fighting against a standard NATO org, not matters the cruel reality of the tiberium poisoning, the decay of the planet, the mixture of totalitarian corporation-state-church of NOD or the experiments with humans. One vision, one purpose.

>>3909 >especially when it is obvious that Kane has plans of his own Communism. Lenin -> Yuri -> Kain, simple as
>>3916 Kane is obviously an analogue to Cain. What with the Marked of Kane/Cain and the fact that he can't die. Even the Scrin can tell he is not human.
>>3924 I love how they were building up the mystery of who he was and his final goal before they just threw in the towel for C&C 4 and he took a portal to some ayylien planet and left Earth. Like what the fuck you could have done that decades ago.
>>3932 I think the original plan was Kane returning to somewhere alien. I read about dev notes that said that the Tacitus was from an alien world that fought the Scrin, which is why Kane had so much affinity with it. Too bad the new people fucked it up. Kinda sad tbh.

New Call of Glowie game set in the cold war Comrade 08/19/2020 (Wed) 21:15:37 No. 3803 [Reply]

>>3803 There is a grand total of 3 post-ww2 CoD games that aren't glowie and out of them 2 are extremely sci-fi. The games have almost always been like this but I'll probably give it a torrent and play the campaign because despite the retarded politics the actual mechanics and melodrama of the campaigns are a guilty pleasure of mine. There are barely any other studios that can actually make a decent linear campaign with high production values.

Tbh I don't think any of the new Hitmans ever get as kino of a level as the theater mission in Blood Money.
>>3151 have you played them? Hokkaido is just top kino for me
ngl, this new level looks kino af https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CynjrQRRpj8
I've always loved these games, nearly every target is some rich scum bucket. The newest ones seem to be going somewhere pretty cool with the story but time will tell.
>>3152 I've spent so much time on that level, I just love everything about it and destroying the heart has to be one of my favourite kills in the series.

Zombies Thread? SaintSlice 07/27/2020 (Mon) 05:14:18 No. 3262 [Reply]
Sup Saint /games/, what's your guys take on the zombies mode in the cod series? Good, bad, murdered? How do you guys think they're going to handle it in bo5? It's probably going to be BO3 again but still you never 100% know How do the other non zombie Co op modes stack compared to it?
7 posts omitted.
>>3603 Yep. It has its own steam workshop full of custom maps with custom weapons and mechanics too
>>3636 Noice
>>3603 BO3 is a weirdly experimental game for a CoD from the co-op campaign story being insane because they only ever imply whats actually happening (unless you are very fast at screenshotting scrolling loading text) to letting people heavily mod zombies. I don't know how treyarch managed to get actiblizzard to go as nuts as they did.
>>3650 Yeah, wouldn't be surprised if ActiBlizzard tried to monetise mods Bethesda style though, hell I wouldn't be surprised if it actually does happen at some point
A very important period of my life was marked by playing with my friends WaW Zombies in lan parties (then, hamachi); specially all the mods.

thoughts on pic related?
Damn, Amano is really phoning it in with that picture. I guess even greats have weaknesses.
>>3848 Amano was the best thing to come out of that franchise. Looking at his art for the games is much more enjoyable, cathartic, fantastical and mysterious than actually playing and following them.
>>3854 >>3855 I just picked the first one I saw and yeah it's not great this one is a little better

THE BMS OF /LEFTYPOL/: ROAD TO CLASS ABOLITION Comrade 08/17/2020 (Mon) 01:16:28 No. 3774 [Reply]
>Downloads and guides on how to start https://bms-community.github.io/resources/ >What is BMS? BMS (Be-Music Source) is a file format for rhythm games, devised by Urao Yane in 1998. The format was originally developed as a format specific for a simulator of the game Beatmania by KONAMI, and currently the term BMS is widely used to describe the whole Beatmania simulating game system. >Why should I care? 1) It's the best fucking rhythm game out there. All the songs available are made specifically for the game and keynoted, so when you press a button, the sound actually plays unlike games like Osu! or other Mania games. 2) There's an insane amount of content. The "game" has been going around for over 20 years, with artists famous in other rhythm games getting their start in this format. While the skill ceiling is baffling, there's just as much content available for beginners and intermediate players as well. 3) It is a picture of what post-capitalist gaming could look like. Everything is made and distributed entirely for free, with events like "The BMS of Fighters" encouraging collaboration and cooperation between artists. There are very, very, very few concessions made in the name of capitalism, the game can be brutally hard or esoteric in song design without worry of having to appeal to a market. While controllers for the game do exist, if you want to play with keyboard, you'll probably have an easier time than if you blew $200 on a Beatmania con. >What are some examples of gameplay? (Note: because there are multiple clients to play these songs on, and skins are fully customizable, looks may vary from video to video) > Musica de Aves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3nLzLTdw80

Message too long. Click here to view full text.

Never understood the appeal of rhythm games. To me they seem like the most bland examples of rote memorization imaginable. Something that's rightfully slammed in any other game genre.
>>3774 I used to play a lot of Jubeat on a legit arcade and some Osu! and it makes me want to get back into ryhtm games. Rythm games, like a lot of arcade games, seem to be seized back from devs a lot (like custom controllers, there are a lot of tutorials on how to make your own Jubeat launchpad) in the West at least, where those games are rare. >>3775 It's like learning an instrument but for weebs.
>>3775 I feel like they're only good if you have to exercise during them ala Beat Saber or DDR. Then it's actually a test of physical skill rather than button pressing.

Help finding an obscure game Comrade 08/15/2020 (Sat) 19:38:01 No. 3748 [Reply]
Recently while watching Zero Punctuation I remembered that yahtzee, during the Drown Out video series with his friend once discussed some sort of an obscure sounding strategy multiplayer game. The main fact I recall about it is that allegedly "all of the people who played it where Slavs or Germans who REALLY loved communism. If I am not mistaken, the game sounded as if it was some sort of tactical multiplayer team game that I think took place in Yugoslavia, as another fact that I recall was that if the same team had a Bosnian and a Serb soldier, they would try to kill each other. Also I think it allowed to really minmax and customize the loadouts of the troops. I never checked the game out and don't recall the name, but these facts about it stuck around. I won't bother finding the video where they discussed it as that would take way too long. Hence I am asking here: anyone got a clue what they where talking about?

Pls don't be strategy Pls don't be strategy Pls don't be strategy >political sim Well it could be kino like Hidden Agenda
>>3730 I bought the game and beat it. Hidden Agenda is much more realistic, fair, and interesting but you get a really hot secretary in For The People who is really sweet so it's a tough call.
