Right-wing games?

I'll start:

Every CD Projekt Red game (Pole company, the most reactionary, racist country on Earth, will always put chinlet propaganda in their games, such as that caricature queer guy in Cyberpunk who's a rapist and smuggler), every TES game (lore is basically about humans, the white ppl of the setting, genociding elves and others and being portraited as good guys, Skyrim is the worst offender), every Paradox game (literal map painters made for chinlets to larp as crusaders, nazis, conquistadors and others who killed BIPOC worldwide)

They're games first and foremost and they don't pretend to be otherwise, even with the pops system the economic and political structure are (understandably) abstract and mostly just tweaking different numbers rather than reflecting the actual relations of the pops. Plus you're given a ton of agency as the player. You might pick up general knowledge about the era covered but it's not supposed to be educational.

Vic 2 is by far the better game even un-modded.
The "victoria 2 unmodded is in-complete trash" is just a meme the victoria 3 fanboys came up with to justify just how shit of a game victoria 3 is.
Un-modded victoria 2 is perfectly playable and better than victoria 3.

The degenerate will tell you how "new bad, old good", and then will start suggesting mods, trying to justify singular RGOs per province, sitting in mountains, encouraging bureaucrats, and defending liquor factories.

It's definitely good without mods, unless they use some weasel definition like "vanilla Vic2 with Yellow Prussia" in which case nobody plays that because it's like playing Mount & Blade without the Warband.

Sad. And I thought grand strategy games are supposed to strive at least for some level of educational quality.

Retroarch for everything or standalone for some stuff?
How do you #retrogame?

I like beauty, customization and ease of use but also understand how much performance and smoothness matters

So which systems you shouldn't go for a retroarch core and download the standalones?

Also, please post your setups and how you decide the play old games

Honestly Bannerlord is an exemplary sequel. It kept all the great things about Warband and either improved on them (especially graphics and UI/quality of life) or simply gave us more content (bigger map, more factions, more mechanics like civil wars and rebellions etc).

Anybody every use the Diplomacy mod for Bannerlord? It adds a lot more depth to diplomacy and politics like military alliances, non-aggression pacts, coups, secessions, and civil wars. However sometimes it produces some wacky shit like here where some clans seceded from the Northern Empire to form a new kingdom, and then some more clans seceded from the secessionist kingdom producing this monstrosity.

it's kind of sad how much money AAA devs pour into tiny improvements in graphics when there's barely any blood left to be squeezed out of that stone. This game for example is 20 years old. 2004. I played it as a teenager. Now compare that with 1984, 20 years before that. A world of difference. But this game holds up graphically after 20 years because everything since then is just slight improvements to textures and shaders and poly count, and changes in standard tv/monitor resolution. And yeah. I know this is pre-rendered cutscene but the gameplay itself is also pretty good for the time, and stands head and shoulders above a lot of 3D indie games made today. What's the deal with graphics obsession still being a thing?

I've been harping on this for years but I'll say it again; graphics hardware, disk space improvements and audio compression advaments have made games inferior products.
The kind if labour thst goes into modern graphics and voice acting is insane. Consider in rpgs we used to have the text equivalent of novels and interesting art directions all pre 2000.
Video Games if conceived in another world could hold countless prestigious pieces of art under its belt whilst in our reality I can count them on one hand that are anything but slop.
I hate capitalism.

>The npc sheeple made the industry that way.
<Noooo it's the bourgeoisie who made the industry that way
Implying there's a dichotomy here. The bourgeoisie shape the proletariat to buy their garbage and in return the proletariat shapes the bourgeoisie so they adapt to their preferences. It's dialectical. Breaking the class society will break such parasitic relationship obviously.

 No.33965

>>33964 (me)
My point is that the NPC sheeple has made the industry that way but also the bourgeoisie have made the NPC sheeple in the first place so they've indirectly contributed to the state of the industry anyway. They wanted that sweet-sweet cash from the larger populace so they're entirely to blame for focusing their efforts to attracting the lowest common denominator through dumbing things down and psychological woodoo magic of marketing and giving people gambling addiction.

It is better than a marker but the fact that it is so obvious it ruins immersion is an issue. Good game and map design naturally leads you to the ladder.
AAA slop is incredibly simplistic in terms of game design anyway. Both the marker and the yellow paint are there to make the slop assembly process more straightforward, neither of them is for the player's benefit. There's no good answer because the question is wrong.

That's not "modern gaming" though. "Modern gaming" is too broad of a term to use here, it's misleading. AAA gaming becoming white is merely the natural consequence of gaming becoming mainstream, it happens to all media in capitalism. It happened to electronic music too, just look at the fucking Tomorrowland, European minimal "techno" producers, Skrillex and Angerfist, I hate this crap. I. Hate. This. Tasteless. "Music."

Hello fellas, I thought we could use this to share ideas for games to play.

Right now I want a post-apocalyptic RTS or strategy war game in general, I tried playing Cuban Missile Crisis just because I love the concept of a final war between the survivors of the various superpowers, but the actual game is pretty bad and definitely doesn't hold up today. I tried even playing this weird I think Russian old-ass RTS also set after the end of the world which was alright but again basic. I dunno anyone have any ideas?

Will also answer anyone else's questions obviously. Oh yeah and I also want a new XCOM style game to play but I doubt anyone will be able to suggest one I haven't already tried or looked at and deemed too garbage to play (seriously try me).

HOI4, Vic 3, Tropico 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. Those are the games that have some left content. I want to play anno 1800, and when i was a kid i played Starcraft 1 and 2 a lot, age of empires, age of mythology, etc, those being RTS(real time strategy)

 No.33875

>>33874
I've played HOI to death sadly, and Tropico gets pretty stale after a while, Vicky 3 is just not very good IMO. I was thinking of playing Anno 1800 but idk, I find the resource management aspects of it a bit tedious and the citybuilding aspects a bit shallow.

 No.33876

Have you tried WARNO? It's a spiritual successor to the Wargame series if you're familiar with that. Essentially a (relatively) realistic late-Cold War RTS with accurate recreations of real units and their equipment, and on a much larger scale than something like World in Conflict. It's got a steep learning curve and a niche player base, but its a lot of fun.

 No.33877

>>33876
I was tempted to try that but I'm so bad at Wargame it's a bit intimidating.

Also, I prefer a doomed world kinda setting to traditional East vs West you know? Though I guess an actual cold war hot war is basically post apocalyptic anyway. Or 'pre apocalyptic' maybe.

 No.33878

>>33877
>I was tempted to try that but I'm so bad at Wargame it's a bit intimidating.
I was never great either but it was always worth it to play imo. In general I would say its a big improvement over Red Dragon. The scope is a little more limited since there are fewer countries and they recreate real units faithfully, so no wacky prototypes and you're basically forced to specialize in terms of armored, mechanized, etc. decks. The gameplay itself however feels much better, the UI and graphics are greatly improved, they introduced some semi-decent AI commands so you don't have to micro as much, the soundtrack is excellent (all pretty hard synthwave stuff which pairs great with the visuals). As for difficulty its still a lot of fun if you can get into a 10v10 and fuck around without anybody really caring. The only major drawback is that the player base is still pretty sparse so it can take a while to find a game.

Yes, the combat is much more dynamic compared to 7. You can position yourself to get upclose damage bonuses/choose the best angles for your attacks, use combo attacks with the other party members. It only started to get old for me during the NG+.
