For New Anons and Lurkers: FAQ, rules, and reading list

Do not put your e-mail in the e-mail field First, Please read this OP. Since we're leftists, there shouldn't be many differences ideologically, but our community has its own jargon and idiosyncrasies which might be jarring to outsiders. Second, although we allow slurs, we are anti-bigotry and it will not be tolerated. Thirdly, the board has an anti-idpol rule. Meaning that discussion of idpol topics is not allowed. There is some flexibility. Where that flexibility is also requires some time to get the feel of it. Fourthly, don't put anything in the name, or email fields. If the endgame of 4/pol/ is unironic National Socialists then I don't mind it

They are easier to convert to Marxist socialism than legit conservatives. They inherently think of capitalism as bad but they think it is because it is Jewish. They think Marxism was co-opted by Jews and see modern neoliberalism and idpol as Jewish, so our political incorrectness would make them see that there is another way. I think we should be more accepting to them as much as they are reactionary and we could get them to support our cause or work together even. Banter is fine, but they are so reactionary to see it as that, so we also need to send that message along with any banter that it is banter.

Is individuality a part of the cause of the falling of the west? Could it be that structuring a society of individuals is not a healthy one and result in a free for all grab before your competition gets it? Such a society only worked because of over-arching values that no longer being followed? And how will mass migration of peoples who still have this collectivism impact western countries? How will democracy work for instance?

stalin was a murderer

This is stalin. Did you know that stalin was the evil virus of satan?,let me explain. According to victims of and /pol/, Stalin was responsible for the holocaust, the Armenian genocide, WW2, the Korean war, the Vietnam War, 9/11, the Arab Spring, the Crusades , the Islamic invasion of Spain , the formation of Israel, he was also responsible for driving the Jews out of Israel in the first place,in fact the Egyptians did nothing wrong; it was Stalin who was responsible for enslaving the Jews ,speaking of the jews, the commandments given by god to moses were 11 not 10,and the 11th one was "thou shall not lend money" but since he needed bourgeoisies to kill in the future, Stain was smart enough to trick god into scraping the 11th commandment, and later tricked every european king to only give the jews money lending as a business,Stalin is secretly a scaly and one day while he was wearing his snake suit he tricked Eve and told her to eat the apple. He also killed Abel. When the babylonians named their tower "tower of babel" instead of "tower of communism" stalin punished them by inventing languages,Stalin lead the Mongol invasions of everywhere. And the Hun invasions. And the Mughal invasions of India. And the Viking invasions and the norman invasion of england.Stalin was the guy who created feudalism and started colonialism all by himself. After Stalin was tested positive for Covid19, he spit on Native Americans, nearly driving them extinct. Stalin also killed all the dinosaurs and started the ice age. He was also behind the Bronze age collapse. Stalin single-handedly did the Triangular Slave Trade; hell he was the guy Stalin bought the slaves from. Stalin also beheaded a French teacher for disrespecting Mohammad, and blamed it on wholesome Muslimerinos. All the blood diamonds are produced by Stalin. He was the guy who cut Congolese workers hands off because they did not meet his supply. Stalin chased Kyyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha with a skateboard and beat him up and snatched his rifle, and used it to kill Jacob Blake. During the BLM protests Stalin was the one who looted and burned all the stores. Even during the Charolletsville incident, they were all shadow-clones of Stalin. Stalin did Pearl Harbor with a single plane and bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Stalin was the mastermind of the Holodomor, He even ate all the grain in front of a starving ukraninoo family and then paid the clouds 10.000 vbucks so that it never rain again in ukraine till this day, stalin created katin from the earth hundreds of years ago just to kill all thoes poor poles in it,he organised the Great Leap Forward too, stalin literally drove a tank into tiananmen square then created the meme "nothing happened on tiananmen square" just to piss mao off one more time, he personally raped everyone in east germany including the men and the children and the dogs and the cats and the corpses and the cars, and every time a tankie screams "It was not real communism", Stalin was involved. One day in 1914 sarajevo stalin was eating a sandwich, then he accidently shot some guy in a car and blamed it on a poor serbian who was passing by, Stalin grilled the last dodo. Stalin shoots Palestinian kids for fun and shoots missiles at Israeli civilians. He was the guy who killed all those Rohingyas, and Uyghurs . He was also involved the current Hong Kong situation; so much involved that he was the one who sold opium to the Chinese. The Irish potato famine, Africa, the Bengal Famine; all because of stalin. Stalin commits human rights violations on North Korean citizens everyday. Al Qaeda, Mujaheddin, Boko-Haram, Taliban they were all covert communists trained by stalin, and funded by the leader of the american deep-state,also stalin, He also killed the prophet of the wholesome 100 Muslimerinos, Sulemani; in a missile strike. He also did the Rape of Nanjing (YES,all of them)and it was stalin who ordered and supplied all the Korean comfort women, the three Alls policy, the baatan death march , the marcopolo bridge incident and the unit 731 were all done by stalin then blamed on the innocent japanese army . Stalin personally snitched on Anne Frank to Stalin, The Jim Crow laws were passed by Stalin, as well as the nuremberg laws and the war on drugs and the war on terror and the war on men and the 7/7 bombing and the charlie hebdo shooting and the new zealand shooting, even the el paso shooting was done by stalin then blamed on a handsome poor ino…i mean registered democrat guy with no relations to far-right at all. The partition of India was Stalin's fault, as well as the resulting Kashmir issue and the split of sudan. He also starred in the Cuban missile crisis and started the cold war. During the Russian Revolution, the peasants understood that Nikolai II's family was innocent, and would offer them a chance to leave, but Stalin massacred them. Stalin tried his best but failed in preventing the American and French Revolutions, but he got back at them by causing the Reign of TERROR using the help of robespieere, who was in fact,a clone made by stalin. Stalin tortured Louis XVI's son and forced him into saying that he had sex with his mother and aunt, and promptly guillotined them. Stalin invented pineapple-pizza and Tofu-Chicken and broccoli veggies and the bat soup and starbucks coffe and socks with sandals and the foot fetish and vore fetish and scat fetish and armpit fetish. He was the guy who snitched on Alan Turing, revealing that he was gay. The judge felt that such a respected professor could be sent away with a slap on the wrist, but Stalin rigged the jury and sentenced him to hormonal therapy. Stalin rigged the New York Stock Exchange and caused the great depression, and was the one who orchastrated the valentine massacre and blamed it on al capone who was actually paying all his taxes but stalin forged the documents that said otherwise,In the town of Waco, he raped a woman, blamed it on a black man and lynched him by burning him alive. He was the leader of the Khmer Rouge and wrote the plot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Despite making up only 3.0211238398812703164724804575659e-7 % of the population Joseph stalin commits 100% of the crimes. Stalin invented soy beans and estrogen and nintendo and created transgender people and brown people and bernie sanders and george soros and karl marx and Friedrich Engels and joe biden and kamala harris and barack obama and the clintons out of thin air to undermine western civilization ,he also almost killed western civilization simply by killing remus and showing plato a crying wojack,Stalin also was the dictator of Uganda. Stalin regularly kills journalists and opposition leaders in Russia and saudi arabia. He was behind Princess Diana's car crash. Stalin once fucked a monkey and started the AIDS pandemic. He started coronavirus and ebola and the Black Death and the Spanish flu and the Bubonic plague and the syphillis outbreak and the Trojan war and tthe Bush war and the fall of Rome and the Dark Ages. After taking a dump, Stalin leaves his toilet paper inside the siphon, stalin burned down the Notre Dame when he was lighting his pipe, he also burned down the white house in 1812 and destroyed the library of alexandria and the house of wisdome and the mayan civilization and the chartage empire, Stalin knelled on George Floyds neck. He also was the guy who sold drugs to George Floyd. Stalin is the reason I am the only person in my class who doesn't have a girlfriend. Stalin is the reason why the Armenia Azerbaijan crisis is even there. Still supporting socialism now libtard snowflake? Didn't think so as this is only 25% of what he did.

China conducts mid-course antiballistic missile test It was the fifth land-based ABM technical test China has publicly announced and the fourth land-based, mid-course ABM technical test publicly known. Mid-course is the most vital phase in the interception of a ballistic missile, and a mid-course ABM means to intercept the missile while it is in its free flight phase outside of the atmosphere, Song Zhongping, a Chinese military expert and TV commentator, told the Global Times on Thursday. While the duration of the mid-course phase is relatively long, the great difficulty of an interception lies in the high trajectory, Song said, noting that the target of interception is usually intermediate-range or intercontinental ballistic missile. China has already mastered the mid-course ABM system, and conducting the latest test shows that the system is becoming mature, and the success rate and reliability of interceptions are increasing significantly, which is very important for China to build a complete ABM system, Song said. The flight of a ballistic missile usually consists of three phases in time order: boost phase in which the rocket booster will power the missile into sky, mid-course phase in which the booster stops as the missile traverses outside of the atmosphere, and reentry or terminal phase in which the missile reenters the atmosphere and dives on its target. It's technically easy to intercept a ballistic missile in the boost phase, because the missile is still close to the ground and accelerating, but it is difficult to get close to the launch site which is usually deep in hostile territory; in terminal phase, the interception is challenging because the speed of the diving missile is very high, observers said. Known ABM tests were carried out by China previously in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2018, according to media reports and official statements.

unpopular opinion: Full communism is a huge mistake. Socialism in a way people still have private property is the way to go. there's no way giving absolute power to the state so they can decide who owns what can end well. Basically you created a form of oligarchy, a few privileged people in the government owns everything, and everybody else is poor, and then what stops nepotism to run rampant when there's no elections? how is that any better than the current bourgeoise? communism depends on an utopian situation that everyone in power has good in their hearts, I know someone is going to quote communist theory and call me uneducated on communism, and I get it that in theory it could work, but how do you get around the fact that humans are corrupt, especially when given power?

JUST - SNA edition

‘No one cares if we die’: Ex-Syrian rebels recount Nagorno-Karabakh nightmare as ‘disposable force for Turkey’ >It was last July when men from the Syrian National Army (SNA), a collective of militant Syrian opposition factions supported and supervised by Turkey, learned that they might be deployed to Azerbaijan, a country few of them had even heard of. They were told they would be acting as border guards, and that the assignment would be easy and combat-free. >“There were five camps of mercenaries in Azerbaijan,” he said. “Hamza Division and Sultan Murad had two camps each, and Sultan Suleiman Shah had one. Each of the five camps had a Turkmen brigade.” >“It was never more clear than in Azerbaijan how Turkey values the Turkmen differently than us,” Mahmoud Azazi said. “The Arabs were in the most dangerous conditions. The Turkmen fighters were our translators, or they worked in the kitchen, or they guarded us to prevent us from leaving our camps. I don’t think a single Turkmen SNA fighter died in Azerbaijan.” >“More than once, SNA men were mistakenly hit by Azerbaijani artillery,” he continued. “One time, after the men were hit with artillery, the Azerbaijanis accidentally ran over them with an armored vehicle. Seven men died because of this.” >“The commanders told us when we returned to Syria that, if we kept quiet, we would quickly get what we were owed,” Azazi said. “And we learned that the commanders already got paid, and most of the Turkmen fighters did too.” >“Everyone in the SNA, even the most loyal to Turkey, knows that Turkey is not trying to help the Syrians,” he continued. “They are not supporting our revolution [against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad]. Because the revolution no longer exists. Turkey destroyed it, and now we are just fighting for Turkey’s interests. I swear to God, a growing segment of us here wish we could go back in time to how we lived before 2011, before the war. Because living with [Turkey’s] authority on our necks, this is worse than living under Assad.” Do not feel bad for them, they are thieves and murderers, lower than dogs.

Xi declares "complete victory" in eradicating absolute poverty in China Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on Thursday that China has scored a "complete victory" in its fight against poverty. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said absolute poverty has been eradicated in the world's most populous country. Xi made the announcement while addressing a grand gathering held in Beijing to mark the country's accomplishments in poverty alleviation and honor its model poverty fighters. Over the past eight years, the final 98.99 million impoverished rural residents living under the current poverty line have all been lifted out of poverty. All the 832 impoverished counties and 128,000 impoverished villages have been removed from the poverty list. Since the launch of the reform and opening up in the late 1970s, 770 million impoverished rural residents have shaken off poverty when calculated in accordance with China's current poverty line. China has contributed more than 70 percent of global poverty reduction over the same period. With such achievements, China has created another "miracle" that will "go down in history," Xi said. Thanks Comrade Xi! Long live the Communist Party of China! Praise socialism with Chinese characteristics! Nuke NATO cunts!

I'm making another thread to try and discuss with you armchair enthusiasts what you actually do. How are you helping to end capitalism? Direct action? Prefigurative politics? Radical unionism? Party politics? Elections? Shit-posting on here calling people a lib? Personally I'm involved in my chapter of Extinction Rebellion. I'm helping getting some local groups setup in every other postcode in the greater metropolitan area. I definitely don't think XR is without it's fault, but at the moment it has the most mass appeal and promotes ideas of non-hierarchy and decentralization which I think are super important. Have managed to get a couple of other key organizers to start reading Ocalan and Kropotkin which is cool. Also working on an essay about suburban food forests, regional agroforestry and urban mushroom farming which I hope to make part of a more explicitly anti-capitalist program, once as I think my chapter of XR fizzles out or is forced to become anti-capitalist.

Does a socialist society have to be authoritarian to survive?

A lot of Marxist-Leninist types I've talked to online justify the authoritarian practices of Marxist-Leninist states, like one-party rule, single-candidate elections, lack of free speech, repression of political dissidents, secret police, etc., as being necessary for a socialist society to survive when surrounded by capitalist societies. Is this true? I sure hope not, because I want socialism but without all that crap. If it is possible for a socialist society to survive without the sort of authoritarian measures mentioned above, what alternative measures could be used to ensure a socialist society's survival?

In this thread we talk communist history especially events exploited by anticommunist propagandist. I want to know what natural disasters lead to these famines. I want to see primary source evidence I can save. I want to know what was behind the deportations and what was there justification. I want to know about the Moscow trial's and the great purge. It unsettles me to know 2 famines can utterly destroy Communism reputation with the hundreds of millions capitalism has killed. Some may say "anon we have a debunk thread" well consider this a more targeted one for communist history only. The other thread can be more general while this be more fine tuned. gulf war general

Lets say you were saddam hussein, you just invaded kuwait, the coalition is gathering on your border, how would you defeat the americans? Personally speaking i only found 5 options you have in this senario: Option 1; the che guevara/mao/tojo/sherman option I Poison every water supply, raze every town to rubble, I go full scorched earth. Burn as much oil, gas, coal as possible to the point where climate change is most likely caused by me, completely level Kuwait to that of the grand canyon, there you go, no one gets kuwait, blow up all radios and electrics in the country to stop the CIA from spying on us, divide my soldiers as seperate guerilla groups, Strap soldiers with explosives and have them fake surrender, then blow themselves up, have soldiers bury themselves in the sand just to surprise the mutts with bayonets, Fire on medics, fire on the red cross, execute every P.O.W I somehow manage to capture by beheading them with katanas and scimitars, and broadcast it live on air, then dump the bodies in the open for them to see, capture any non-american soldiers who joined the coalition and make them either join us, or force them to march through the deserts twice that of bataan, booby trap bridges, oil derricks, and roads. Conscript civilians at gun point and use them as human shields. Disperse soldiers into the desert, and have them blend in with any towns, viet cong style, massacre any towns that refuse to cooperate absolutely. Use chemical weapons, manufacture them if not available. Use any aircrafts i had or captured as kamikaze, then i crash those planes 9/11 style into US outposts, raid US convoys and camps at night, make a whole cult out of this war, the cult that if iraq was lost to america, other Middle East countries are next, maybe even leak any information that proves this. I doubt I would win, but the brutality of this war will lessen America's will to ever again involve itself in the Middle East, or anywhere else,i'll fight burger autism with autism. >Option 2 the zhukov/grant/rommel/luigi cadorna option. Have the elite republican guard declaring marshal law in kuwait, order them to defend it until death, then we muster up!, first we start training 30% of our army as officers, that way when we conscript the rest of the population these new officers can lead them and train them too,(this step has to be done before invading kuwait to save time),afterward we start sending a few troops on the saudi border, but these troops will work as a decoy while the real army is being built, containing a fuckton of speedy cars, light tanks and Anti-air vehicles, during that time we prepare the whole country for a defensive war,(build anti-air nests everywhere, protect cities and aircrafts from bombing, ration food and weapons, counter-espionage)I should also prevent the coalition from massing on the border at any cost, maybe launch a pre-emptive strike on the american forces as they're still missing in Saudi Arabia, then when the time comes, we change strategy and wreak havoc, we start by blitzing on into Saudi Arabia and capturing its oil fields before the Americans can arrive with more forces, evading them along the way, then we start sending the human waves after waves everytime we encircle an american division, they simply can't shoot all of us if the supply lines are cut off and the air forces running low on oil(we captured the oil fields remember?). We also issue a kind of a commissar order but for US officers, captains, agents and any soldiers identified as "fanatics" between the P.O.W's, it can go something like "all those prisoners who could be identified as "thoroughly capitalized or as active representatives of the capitalist ideology" should also be killed.". From here, we jump into the negotiation table with the US, maybe promise to withdraw from saudi arabian territories, spare any P.O.W's we haven't killed yet, and perhaps even recognize israel (so they can fuck off, while we modernize just enough to no longer recognize israel), in exchange for annexing kuwait, now if this is rejected, we simply continue the war, even if we start losing, the losses will be large enough to convince the American public that the war will be a bloodbath and that it isn't worth the effort. >Option3; the sane person/smart person/logical person option Just build the fucking nuke!, come on now like i know nukes aren't real but hey, at least nukes will keep the porky away, right? >Option4; the makhno/kropotkin option I get rid of the state in iraq and kuwait, abolish the laws, the prisons, the police, the gods, everything resembling a hierarchy, then we start producing goods for everyone by everyone, working towards peace, not war, and any problems in the community shall be addressed using council that follows direct democracy, where we all have a saying, it will be a utopia, so great that the coalition, once it arrives to attack us, will defect by the masses throwing behind their weapons and old miserable lives in capitalist countries, hell even israel and the gulf states will look at our achievement with envy, regretting the lifestyle that turned them into greedy Inhumans, and just like that, in less than three months, all of the middle east, then eurasia and asia and africa, becomes a one, unified anarchist land fully prepared to fight the imperialist USA. (This is the best option and you can't tell me otherwise) >Option 5; the leonardo DiCaprio/tom cruise/morgan freeman option "I give up, there is no way we can stop them, america, israel, the petrodollar, its all so tiresome" I say to myself as i come to the harsh realization, nobody can change the system and its nature, many tried before us and failed, this is just how the world works," and now after we invaded kuwait and enraged the billionaires, they are coming to get us, enslave us and call it liberation, exploit us and call it freedom, kill us with cold blood and call it counter-terrorism, we had dreams but it doesn't matter to Anyone, we are just food on their golden plate, and let me tell you, they hate resisting food" I decide to gather all the wealth i have and live the last days of my worthless life in luxury, engaging in fetishes so degenerate it almost puts the japanese and their cartoons to shame, months have passed now, they are still looking for me, but i hid underground in a secret bunker, all that free time was useful though,it gave me the freedom to read again the writings of many old philosophers, and confidently fix the mistakes they made in their theories,i was finally proud to call myself, the master of philosophy. When the night comes, I always dressed up as a civilian just to go out and see the sky of iraq,a sky I might never see again, who knows for how long this will last. Then the fateful day came, they discovered where i was hiding, arrested me and were going to put me on a fake trial just to get rid of another threat to their interests, but unfortunately for them,i still had one more trick up my sleeve for this very moment, when the trial occurred, everyone was expecting a coward begging for mercy, but not me, instead i used this supposed show of american strength to deliver the opposite, american imperialism, evading the judges pointless threats and asking the obvious questions no one seems to be asking "if you really care about liberating the iraqis, then why did you destroy everything, they lived on?" "who is going to rebuild iraq after me?" later i delivered a speech, a speech so charismatic, so intelligent and inspiring it can be compared to that of lenin, napoleon, and even jesus christ himself, suddenly everyone in the hall stood up, some cried other clapped, but together cheered the speech,i was unbothered by the judge demanding order and threatening execution, in fact the only thing that really put me down in that room was the bowl of fruit loops they gave me, god i hate that cereal, in the end the judge gave the death sentence, was not surprised at all, so i simply stood up, looked at him in the eyes and said,"we will see who the world will remember, saddam or his executioner" and walked out with the american soldiers at the door to the cell. *Roll credit.*

I cannot wrap my head around libertarian ideology. Red flag, yellow flag, Rand, Kropotkin-- you're all exactly as stupid. What stops the most successful capitalists from simply becoming kings and lords in the absence of state regulation? What stops foreign imperialists from smashing a revolution that cannot match their economic output or police itself? What sort of idiot thinks any cook can govern? Some cooks can't even run their kitchens correctly and you expect them to take on the burdens of ruling a nation? It's not enough to just say "there has never been a successful anarchist society" because that would imply anarchy can even exist long-term. Makhnovia was an inland pirate's cove and Catalonia not only exercised significant state power but was also wholly dependant on the Soviet Union. Neither lasted longer than a couple of years and both failed miserably because better-organized state forces crushed them.

Hello leftists. I have a question. What is your opinion on bitcoin? We know bitcoin is probably the worse possible use of energy on Earth. Arguably, its proponents could be considered to be accelerating climate change. It literally turns electricity into internet money. Is that the point? Is bitcoin the ultimate expression of capitalism? If we view "price" with a sort of teleological purpose, the ever increasing price of bitcoin serves to draw humans to buy bitcoin, use it, spend it, mine it. Is this capitalism's ultimate weapon against humanity? This would be the ultimate expression of capitalism. Humans would destroy the environment to power machines that serve the single purpose of driving a number up and up and up. Literally just increasing the price. In this sense price serves as a feedback loop. Higher it goes the more humans jump on, ripping apart their environment for the ever increasing number. I'm scared, genuinely I am. I love Trump. will human life end in my lifetime? Should I buy bitcoin because the price will continue to increase until humanity is extinct? Is it literally an incentive for human extinction? Has the capitalism AI got us? I have to ask the leftists, you guys keep me straight, I don't wanna be a nazi Also can climate change be stopped? I don't think so, drop facts and logic in the comments

Trees are communist

>Students at the Institute for Environmental Research at RWTH Aachen discovered something amazing about photosynthesis in undisturbed beech forests. Apparently, the trees synchronize their performance so that they are all equally successful. And that is not what one would expect. Each beech tree grows in a unique location, and conditions can vary greatly in just a few yards. The soil can be stony or loose. It can retain a great deal of water or almost no water. It can be full of nutrients or extremely barren. Accordingly, each tree experiences different growing conditions; therefore, each tree grows more quickly or more slowly and produces more or less sugar or wood, and thus you would expect every tree to be photosynthesizing at a different rate. > And that’s what makes the research results so astounding. The rate of photosynthesis is the same for all the trees. The trees, it seems, are equalizing differences between the strong and the weak. Whether they are thick or thin, all members of the same species are using light to produce the same amount of sugar per leaf. This equalization is taking place underground through the roots. There’s obviously a lively exchange going on down there. Whoever has an abundance of sugar hands some over; whoever is running short gets help. Once again, fungi are involved. Their enormous networks act as gigantic redistribution mechanisms. It’s a bit like the way social security systems operate to ensure individual members of society don’t fall too far behind. This is from "The Hidden Life of Trees". Of course it is nothing like social security, it is just communism.

is it even possible to deradicalize people that identify with fash ideologies or are 100% devoted to capital? it seems like once they've started getting into it, the circular logic and cognitive dissonance make it impossible to get through to them because they'll just dismiss everything you say as a jewish/socialist plot, even with hard evidence to support your claims and while taking the utmost precautions not to antagonize them what are deradicalization methods that work? Do Americans hate socialism primarily because they are a cruel, twisted, ignorant people?

I truly believe Americans are a fucking warped degeneration of the human race. Not for any insane polack reasoning like >Muh mutt breeding But rather because Americans have been atomized away from humanity for a long time. Americans are human solely in a biological sense, otherwise they are automatons that consume. That being said, is it their twisted, warped nature that makes Americans despise socialism and communism so much? Do Americans simply worship suffering, death, and devastation? The average American is certainly a vile social darwinist, no? I believe the average American is lying when they Make absurd claims such as >The modern economy is socialist because it is bad :) Or >Joe Biden is a communist/radical leftist Or >The DNC has moved too far to “the Left” ;) Honestly I believe the average American is a lying rat piece of shit and understands what it’s doing when it makes absurd claims such as those listed above. They know that the fundamental assumption that arises from their position is that fascism is the only way. In fact, the average american is a fascist; they will never call themselves one and will loudly say they detest fascism; but if we go by George Jackson’s thesis of the US as a “stabilized fascist society” (Nazi Germany was an unstable fascist society hence the pathological explosion of violence) then it would make the average American a fascist by default, no? Is that why the average American despises socialism then?

Was Dzherzhinsky an Aeon?

>...I should like so much to perceive the beauty in nature, in people, in what they create, to delight in them, to perfect myself, because beauty and goodness are like two sisters. The asceticism that has fallen to my lot is so alien to me. I would like to be a father and put into the soul of a young creature everything good that is on the earth, to see how the rays of my love for it would produce a luxuriant blossom of the human soul.... >... Like a flower, the human soul unconsciously imbibes the rays of the sun and longs eternally for it, for its light; it fades and shrivels when evil shades off the light Our vigour and faith in a better future for mankind is built on this striving of every human soul towards the sunlight, and so there should never be hopelessness.... The evil genius of mankind today is hypocrisy: love in words, but in practice – a merciless struggle to exist, to achieve so-called “happiness,” to make a career.... To be a ray of light for others, to irradiate light, is the greatest happiness a man can achieve. Then a man does not fear suffering or death, misfortune or need. Then a man ceases to fear death, although only then he does really learn to love life. Only then will he walk on the earth with his eyes open, seeing, hearing and understanding everything, only then will he emerge from his narrow shell into the light and feel the joys and sufferings of all mankind; only then will he be a real man.

leftism is basically dead in First World right? It's Tankies, LeftComs, Trots and the such that are keeping us impotent. These people are stuck in the past simping over Stalin or Trotsky its cringe. I'm honestly asking what have leftcoms, trots and socdems actually done to power the communist movement? theory and practice it seems like nothing has came from these groups. not anything deemed important anyways. These people are at times very anti-Marxist as well. We gotta revive, rejuvenate Leftism to a higher level in our own present day

There seems to be a correlation between crime and direct leftist action where leftism is supressed. Karl Marx didnt mention this, he never saw the revolutionary potential of the lumpen but history has clearly proved him wrong. Organized crime is possible but not without a mastermind and criminal masterminds are very rare.

They have to take supplements for life cause their body can't absorb nutrients properly after that. About 50.000 persons do this each year in France, 82% are women and they have 50% more chance of suicide after the surgery. Is this peak capitalism?

Hi, I am 16 and have been interested in communism. Bernie sanders sparked my interest in politics when I was 13 years old, and I was a democratic socialist like Bernie. I have recently began to see how fucked capitalism is. I have lived in west virginia all my life around racist selfish conservatives and I have never liked the right, even when I just started to know what politics were when I was about 10 and i’ve always had more progressive ideals. I’ve done some basic research on communism and understand the basic principles, but I would like to read some books about it. I try looking for books about it online but some how nearly every book i find about communism is just anti. Thank you so much!

What we do about drones? I dont want the government to have this much fire power. They dont even need humans anymore. We need to shift the balance of fire power back towards the working class somehow so that the capitalist will fear us. Maybe make like some type of smaller drone that just attaches to the larger drone and explodes.

Ill start: >Ribbentrop liked and admired Joseph Stalin and was opposed to the attack on the Soviet Union in 1941.[238] He passed a word to a Soviet diplomat: "Please tell Stalin I was against this war, and that I know it will bring great misfortune to Germany." When it came to time for Ribbentrop to present the German declaration of war on 22 June 1941 to the Soviet Ambassador, General Vladimir Dekanozov, the interpreter Paul Schmidt described the scene: >Von Ribbentrop is nervous, walking up and down from one end of his large office to the other, like a caged animal, while saying over and over, "The Führer is absolutely right. We must attack Russia, or they will surely attack us!" Is he reassuring himself? Is he justifying the ruination of his crowning diplomatic achievement? Now he has to destroy it "because that is the Führer's wish".

For Amazon and Alabama, Warehouse Union Vote Would Shake Up History

>Even before Amazon built its warehouse in Bessemer, Ala., local officials called it a game-changer. >The mayor said it was the largest single investment in the 130-year history of the city. Birmingham's working-class suburb is a shadow of the steel and mining hub it used to be. Amazon jobs, paying more than double the state's minimum wage of $7.25, promised a shot in the arm. >But less than a year after the facility opened, it became a different kind of game-changer: Amazon's first U.S. warehouse to get to a union election. If the union drive wins, it would turn a new page not only for the company, but also the region. >Some 5,800 workers of the Bessemer warehouse will begin voting by mail on Feb. 8 on whether to join the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. This will be the first Amazon warehouse union election since 2014, when a small group of technicians in Delaware voted against unionizing. >Bessemer workers reached out to the retail union quietly during the pandemic-rattled summer, according to RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum. The workers described grueling productivity quotas and wanted more say in how people at Amazon work, get disciplined or get fired. >A support system mobilized — help from unionized workers around the region, many from poultry plants. Within months, the union says, more than half of Amazon staff at the Bessemer warehouse signed cards saying they want a union shop. >"The thing that is most important for them is to be treated with respect," Appelbaum told NPR. "I also think that the facility was new and I think people had expectations when they came in that were not being realized." >Amazon representatives say the workers pushing for a union do not represent the majority of its employees' views, adding: "Our employees choose to work at Amazon because we offer some of the best jobs available everywhere we hire." The company is pushing to delay the union election, appealing for an in-person vote rather than by mail, despite coronavirus concerns.

So I was thinking. Does it really matter wether china is communist or capitalist? If they are capitalist shouldn't they be game ended and their people liberated? I mean capitalists think they are communist swine and want to game end them and liberate the people. Sure there is a difference in outcome here but ultimately it should be agreed apon that china is in the wrong and deserves some reform. If they are capitalist. If they aren't capitalist and don't deserve to be game ended then the poltical right in America is still right in calling them communist and a total failure. Pic not related

'Law' in communist society

I think many people overestimate how dangerous, unruly or disruptive people would be in communist society (of the upper stage). However, there will, I imagine, be some who still participate in disruptive or harmful behaviour. The most extreme examples we can probably think of are murder and rape, but this can also include something like drug addiction. Obviously economic factors encourage and worsen these issues, but the question is, what is to be done with those who keep at it, so to speak? How should a communist society realistically deal with these problems in a way that doesn't impede on free association? Would there still be codified rules that could be enforced, and if so, how are those functionally different from state laws? If these 'laws' were to exist, would they be democratically decided on? This is something I'm genuinely quite curious about as I have a hard time finding answers. As such I also want to ask some of you if there are any texts (preferably from Marxists) that you could refer me to that discuss or explain some of these issues. Thanks fellas. P.S. Bordiga in pic looks like one of those German 3d emoji things. Freaky stuff!

In the advanced countries the economy is becoming more about rent seeking. Many say this is a return to feudalism. It feels like it and the political forms ape the feudal style. We must use direct action to show people what lies behind the courtains and how this scumbags operate. Which has given me an idea. We should ddos their high speed trading servers. housing under capitalism

Why is capitalism so bad at building affordable housing? There is tons of talk of building more, but all the stuff we build is luxury condos, apartments, and houses. Absolutely no one is building 1/0 bedroom units to pacify wagies with. It's like the ruling class wants revolution. Why are they so impotent? Can none of them just reach into the housing market and create the shacks their slaves need to live in? Why are billionaires so hesitant to expropriate the holdings of millionaires?

Im not talking about bourgoise rights like "muh property" but Im talking about natural rights. There is a key distinction. What's witth this /r/stupidpol meme that academics are not proles. First, in burgerland and canada Masters and PhDs often take the form of a normal wagie position, in which you are employed in one part for menial academic jobs, like grading papers, teaching people, assisting in a lab doing chores, and when it's worse, you do the lowest jobs ever, like working in the cafeteria, or literally doing chores like the normal servant you are. There is also the academic side, in which you literally work for the university, a lot universities in canada accept this too, in there you are literally paid money to research, because they know, some times they don't even employ you in something else directly, but rather force you to be employed with poverty wages. Secondly, academics suffer from the worse evils of capitalism, with long hours that you are force to fufill because of the university quotas, and the labour laws don't cover you, and when they do, the university often forces you to work more than the regular working day, like first world equivalent to what's like working in south america These positions are often associated with depression and suicide, with people developing serious mental illnesses just by the sheer allienation that you have from your own mental capacities. You can become part of the surplus population too, and ending up destitute, if somehow the university doesn't like you anymore. And it's the same shit when you are not a student, and are graduated, except you do the work side by being a teacher, and still have simmilar constraints. This is the exception when you become a department head, or get a serious position, in which case you status as a prole, can be iffy, because you can get sometimes part of the profit of the people you handle, but not always, a lot of times, you are just a simmilar prole working 18 h a day, but grading papers, and working with money instead. This is why the meme of the communist grad student is half true. these people are very smart, enough to know their class postion, and are succeptible to radicalization. So why are the academics and students not included more often in the labour movement? image to bait you into clicking my thread

The reason why marx was wrong and the LTV is debunked is cuz he didnt account for heterogenous labor

Heterogenous labor problem is big enough of a problem when you apply it to central planning that it becomes the Achilles heel of marx. Heterogenous types of labor can only be reduced to a heterogenous unit only when it tend to exchange at their true labor values. And marx even admitted in capital 1 that is not true in the short run. >commodities may be sold at prices deviating from their values, but these deviations are to be considered as infractions of the laws of the exchange of commodities If you either explain to me how marx can aggregate it, explain to me as I might have overread it or misread it.

In what lense should you look at "multi diversity" without incurring in a tipical idpol, segregationist viewpoint? We can for example on one hand point out how artificial boundaries containing various amounts of different ethnic groups in ex colonies have led to a lot of internal conflict and strife over the 20th century. But on the other hand we acknowledge that these strifes are due to power imbalances between these groups and the fight for accumulation of wealth, which is a particular feature of most free market societies. Yet, with the advent of these movements these divisions based on cultural/religious boundaries still hold true. What should we do with these certain groups that wont dismiss their cultural/religious identities even if they accept socialism? Should we be more sectarian or more inclusive? (Im mostly talking about "undeveloped" nations.)

I was talking to a vegan friend, and he told me that I have to be a vegan if I cared about ending exploitation. He argued that industrial farming is literally exploitation of animals and systemic murder, and that we in fact do not need to eat meat to survive. Idk if I see it as a must to be vegan, but he does have some very valid arguments. I find myself feeling bad buying anything with meat. Even when I try and argue with myself with some arguments he brought up, I end up facing a lot of speciesist arguments that I have no way to validate morally without also validating racism, and other discriminatory arguments.

I present to you the following scenario: The year is 1860. The Northern United States has, over the past few decades, been taken up in a wave of Anarchist furor. The Southern aristocracy, fearing that this Anarchist ideology will soon begin to demand the emancipation of the negro, launches a surprise attack on the People's Revolutionary Volunteer Militia Garrison at Fort Sumter. How do the people of the North raise, train, supply, and command an army to crush the slavers, without creating a State in the process?

Mental Health General

ITT: Discuss the relationship between bourgeois society and mental illness, or just how you're doing in this hellscape. IMO, we have a distorted understanding of things like depression, anxiety, etc. due to the tendency to look at such things as merely defects in a normal biological process and in isolation. The response, in turn, is also one-sided (ex. a drug that targets serotonin neurotransmitters). This isn't to deny that mental illnesses exist - albeit I'm open to those theories as well - but that their character is distorted into largely being one of an imbalance of some kind in the individual, as opposed to being affected by the environment surrounding them. I wanted to bring up this thread as I'm currently in a shitpickle. I've been home after returning from abroad just before the COVID pandemic hit the US, and my parents have been trying to get me to take anti-depressants for almost a year. I've been seeing counselors (most being shitty - one guy literally did nothing but push meds, saying that as long as I took the SSRI I would get better, and had no ear for anything else), so I've been doing more than nothing. Idk, I find it depressing that my parents only want me to get better but keep pushing drugs I don't want to take, which upsets them. For the record, the latest one they're vying for is called Vortioxetine (Trintellix is the brand name). Not an SSRI, but still a drug focused on increasing levels of serotonin. Read through side-effects, and there's a high risk of increased suicidal thoughts/behavior for my age group - my parents didn't seem dissuaded by this. That along with other effects, they maintained that for most people the effects are minimal. I still don't like those odds, I mean during the trials of the drug dozens of people killed themselves, and I'd mildly like to avoid that.

>Today I saw such a strange case. There was a machine that killed 100 people per day, and of course we had not even a hint of the existence of it. >Worst yet, they choose one of the 100 victims to control the machine, once the old manager die. And they all kill their old partners with no second thought! >Well, except for one. No one really knows his name, not even himself. We call him Z. >Z was chosen to manage the machine, but the definitely didn't want to. His first thought was to free the 100 people chosen to die. >However, he quickly changed his mind. Thought that everyone would quickly notice his plan once the 100 people was set free. Instead he chose to free 5 people everyday and kill the rest of them. >It worked. By the end of the year he saved more than 1000 people, and was around that time that we got to know about such sadistic machine. >Of course, everyone involved was charged with life in prison. Everyone except for Z. He is here, waiting for my judgement and I can't decide if he should be charged with mass murder or be set free as a hero. So leftypol, was Z a hero or a criminal? NOOOOO YOU CAN'T SAY THAT NOT MY HECKING GRETERINOOOOS! Carbon Dioxide Fertilization Greening Earth, Study Finds From a quarter to half of Earth’s vegetated lands has shown significant greening over the last 35 years largely due to rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, according to a new study published in the journal Nature Climate Change on April 25. An international team of 32 authors from 24 institutions in eight countries led the effort, which involved using satellite data from NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer instruments to help determine the leaf area index, or amount of leaf cover, over the planet’s vegetated regions. The greening represents an increase in leaves on plants and trees equivalent in area to two times the continental United States.

Historical Pseudo/Proto-Communist/Socialist Societies

There are several pre-soviet historical examples for societies which could be vaguely described as socialist or communist. I have three examples: Incan Empire: The most famous I guess. They had a vast planned economy without currency or markets with an extensive welfare system during. They still had classes though and an Emperor at the top. Indus River Valley Civilization: They seem to have been really egalitarian. All houses in their cities were of roughly the same size (and of surprisingly high quality), there are no known depictions of Leaders and elites and no temples or palaces. Jesuit Socialist Theocracies in Paraguay: Apparently the Jesuits built a theocratic socialist society in Paraguay. It even managed to reach higher qualities of life than in most of europe. Do you have any more to add? Also, and this is my main question. What is the relevance of such societies? Do we just pass them off as utopian socialism? Are they extensions of Primitive Communism? Can we learn anything from them?

Imagine what the world would look like today

Why did he do it? I cry whenever I think of all the possibilities. I know he thought Marxism was just co-opted by Jews as a tool to trick people into rallying against capitalism, which he thought was also Jewish controlled because usury and trade is the language of the Jew, but didn't Lenin purge the Jews despite enacting first anti-Semitic laws? And Stalin just purged them even further? Why was he blind to the fact that the goys took back Marxism? Was he just too much of a schizo to realize that? He literally hated fascists in Italy for invading Greece and ruining any potential to start a nationalist socialist workers revolution in the Islamic world. Fascists were practically syndicalists, and NatSocs were Marxists who just added race to the equation: Marx: class > individual Hitler: race > class > individual I was watching TIK's video on Hitler > And as he was tackling arguments, he cited sources on Hitler's opinions and I found myself agreeing with Hitler more and more. The video ended, and I just had to accept that Hitler was indeed a socialist. I literally saw what Hitler meant by the race being more important than the class. Workers are literally normies who just care about their immediate needs and feelings. They cannot comprehend something like leftist politics beyond "they want my benefits" or "liberal capitalist government told me you're bad." But we are biologically inclined to like people who look like us. Hitler understood that, and literally used that to make the most peaceful revolution of being VOTED into office instead of started a worker's revolt which just tarnished German communists reputation after their failed revolution. His exploitation of human nature for caring of their immediate needs and FAMILY, and by extension the RACE they belong to worked to GET him elected. The worker, like us, are people, and have their own subjective needs. I find the blank slate treatment of the workers, as not social biological animals, but just a unit worker dehumanizing. We are complex creatures. Way more complex than class alone.

Are cities bourgeois?

Cities historically were the cradles of the bourgeoisie, and to this day the bourgeoisie operates primarily out of cities (Wall Street, Canary Wharf, etc.). All successful socialist revolutions have been conducted in predominantly rural societies, and urbanization eventually led to the re-establishment of capitalism in places where those revolutions occurred. With that said, how do solve the Urban Question /leftypol/? Is burning all cities down a pre-requisite for full communism? After all, the only society in history to achieve communism, Democratic Kampuchea, was also the only one that decided to do away with cities.

Iraq, 2003

Hello comrades, I want to develop a better understanding of the history of the situation in the middle east, especially as it relates to US foreign policy. I know there's a million resources out there but it's difficult to know which ones are filtered through lib/conservative brain or whatever. I'm looking for books/documentaries/youtube channels/podcasts/whatever will help me get a better understanding. I'm pretty much completely ignorant on this subject and I want to do better. Thanks

If there is anything that the gamestop debacle has shown me is that modern warfare doesnt lie in the battlefields but on the economy. It excellent praxis. It raises class conciousness, its profitable and doesnt hurt anybody in the process. The question is then how to engage in economic warfare and i made a thread about it earlier. It lies on the servers. The entire worlds economies are digitized in the form of 1s and 0s and those 1s and 0s are stored and sent via servers. I also mentioned about high frequency trading. Hft happens in matter of nano seconds. These hft servers account for a big portion of the financial sector and if there is so much as a blip it can crash the market. The ideal scenario would be hacking from the comfort of your home, but thats very difficult. The next best thing is to have physical access to said server. Thereafter you can open the computer if the bios is locked and reset the bios, boot from a pendrive and install a virus or something. This would imply either burglary and/or sabotage. Afterwards you can just buy shorts, crash the market and reap the profits... or just steal their shit somehow. Now these server rooms have guards ofcource and those guards probably have walkie talkies as well. Youd have to find a way to neutralize them and not raise the alarm. This would be some mission impossible type of shit. Maybe someone could impersonate the IT guy somehow.

Is FALC a contradiction in terms?

To introduce the topic, some takes on the issue from vintage and recent pop culture. In Kurt Vonnegut's book "Player Piano", almost all work has been automated. The protagonist is one of the lucky few in the managerial class, who does minimal work managing a factory and schmoozes with fellow pmc neurotics. All the people who have been automated away, meanwhile, are either given busywork in the "reclamation corps", or simply put on government handouts. They don't obviously lack anything, but aren't too happy with their lack of social standing, as "wrecks and reeks". Spoiler: at the end of the book these unemployed fellows "revolt", smashing the machines. Not because they were deprived or had specific political demands - but only so they could again fix the machines. So they would be needed again. (summarized from memory) From a work of lesser pedigree, Aggressive Retsuko. The protagonist is on office lady, who, spoiler, at some point falls in love with a tech guru. His new AI promises to automate away her line of work, setting her free to do "what she wants". Only it turns out she doesn't really have something well defined she wants to do with her life. She was happy being needed at her dumb job. They break up over it. All this to in a roundabout way get at the core of an issue I am wondering about regarding "fully automated (luxury) communism". Right now most of us are stuck not only having to trade away our labour for a wage, but also receiving less than the value of our labour in wages, because of our disadvantageous bargaining position in the relation of production. Right now, automation has no positive (even a negative) impact on our position in this relation of production, since the machine is owned by the capitalists, and all the benefits that flow from it accrue to him also. The idea of FALC however, is that under communism sufficient automation would eventually emancipate us from having to do any work at all. Very few will do very little work, and machines take care of the rest. To each according to his need, ability not required. What I'm wondering: is this in itself not a very alienating kind of society? It is all well and good to be "liberated" from work, but that also implies no longer being needed by your fellow man in the material sense. You might still matter to your loved ones and friends simply for who you are, as a friend or family member etc., but at the material level you would not be needed, not contribute, not have purpose. Of course you can say, embrace that new freedom and indulge in hobbies and socializing and thinking and hedonism. Make art. But we're not all born artists, we don't all have aptitude or inclination to make art that is appreciated by others. Most creative products kinda suck. These folks will not leave any kind of mark or serve any purpose, but to provide opportunity for socialization to their surroundings. We can theorize that under "enlightened" future communist society this will not be cause for discrimination against the "mundanes" or depression among them, because of the enlightened mindset or whatever. And yet. Once you cannot contribute materially to society, while others still do (artists, scientists, the few engineers managing the robotics, etc.), the distinction between "maker and taker" becomes very stark. The stars and the mundanes. I have to say that sounds kinda dark to me, I of no particular talent. I don't like to wage slave, but I do like the idea of contributing to society materially. Doing my part and having a part to do, even if it's just a little bit. And the thing is, if sufficient automation exist, you cannot solve this issue. It makes no sense to create busywork because everyone knows it for what it is. Even the decision to not move to a certain level of automation when the knowhow and capacity is there, would simply be patronizing. You are not objectively needed, but we'll hold back the update so you'll feel useful for another generation. That won't work. But once you think along this line of logic, we cannot even decide to stop the progression of automation, because that would be transparently patronizing to the otherwise (materially) obsolete workers. "We are not just pretending you are needed, don't worry bro." It is supposedly our species being that we are "makers". Yet we're rapidly closing the window for many people to meaningfully - materially - be makers. The average joe will not be able to meaningfully, substantially, be a "homo faber". In this reading FALC would in fact create significant alienation (alienation from our material species being!), and thus not be - haha - real communism. Was Ted right?

Marcus Garvey

Let's talk about Marcus Garvey, one of the most influential and controversial black nationalists in modern history. I think he's an interesting historical figure even though I dislike a lot of things about him (like his horrible political views about racial separatism and the KKK). Despite ultimately being a reactionary who was committed to maintaining capitalism, should he be given credit for his contributions to pan-africanism as an ideology? Or his advocacy for emancipation and self-determination for black Americans? I know he ended up being a big inspiration to the Nation of Islam, but he also ended up inspiring Kwame Nkrumah, MLK, and Malcolm X with certain points he made, as well as the Black Consciousness movement in South Africa during apartheid.

Where does this board stand on offshore labor and immigration vs wages? The working class clearly suffers as the labor supply increases; employers have less reason to incentivizte workers with livable wages, employee competition creates longer and longer waiting periods between jobs, job security diminishes. A college IT graduate may spend 6 months to a year looking for any job at all, even unpaid for experience, as the work can legally be done offshore. Alternatively, offshore labor and immigration increases the prosperity of the disadvantaged third world and provides work that was previously only available to the first. Fighting for the prosperity of the globe at the cost of the American working class is thus a noble cause. What is the true fight?

What happened in the USSR after the 50s and 60s that made it lag behind?

What did Pinochet actually *do* to inspire so much devotion from reactionaries?

Recently I finished reading "The Jakarta Method" by Vincent Bevins and he talks a lot about the Pinochet coup in Chile in relation to the Indonesian genocide. Reading about his accomplishments (or lack thereof), I started wondering something: other than the fact he killed leftists, what did Pinochet actually accomplish that would make all these right-wing nationalists love him so much? Because when you look at his political career, he should by all rights be a disgrace in their eyes. He was an unpopular, uncharismatic, and universally-reviled dictator with a high-pitched voice (which they'd consider "soy" and un-manly) who was installed by the CIA specifically to make it easier for America to dominate Chile. He oversaw multiple recessions (so much for his vaunted economic reforms), destroyed Chile's national autonomy, and sold out the whole economy to American corporations. He supposedly fought against leftist "degeneracy" while knowingly letting Paul Schafer rape literally hundreds of children for decades without ever trying to stop him. Pinochet was by all accounts a craven, morally-bankrupt opportunist who compromised his country's interests in favor of global neoliberalism (he also pursued closer relations with Israel, much to the chagrin of the neo-Nazis who nosh his wrinkly balls). This should all be utterly revolting to any genuine nationalist, so what the hell is it that chuds like about him? Is it literally just "HE OWNED THE COMMIES LAWL" and nothing else?

Who were some noteworthy political dissidents in the Soviet Union?

Capitalist nations like the United States have produced a number of famous dissidents, like Martin Luther King Jr., Angela Davis, Noam Chomsky, and Richard D. Wolff. I am curious if the Soviet Union had their own equivalent of, say, Noam Chomsky. If the Soviet Union did produce any noteworthy dissidents, how much freedom were they given to criticize the government without facing negative consequences? Did any dissidents become widely known to and/or popular with the Soviet public? I am mostly asking about the Soviet Union from 1945 onward, as they were still recovering from their revolution and civil war before then.

It's unlikely that jobs will get sent to sub saharan africa

The unemployment rate currently is 15% meaning a lot of them already have jobs along with the fact that westerners are already generally disliked within the region either due to colonial/neocolonial history or the fact that most westerners take advantage of the fact that most women are below 24 in sub saharan africa. Sub saharan africas development as a whole is mostly evolving off internal trading from local buissnesses and investment from china, if westerners due try to touch the continent it's likely just gonna result in shitloads of corruption or just brands like Jumia getting promoted in the region with decent sales

Books about how a bunch of reactionary adjacent shitposters on reddit did more damage to the capitalist class than the entire political left has done in the past 50 years? Why is the left so impotent, self-masturbatory, and easy to co-opt? Also, why do so many leftists gather to defend these capitalists from the “fascists” and “nazis” going after them?

Is communism against human nature?

<The communists believe that they have found the path to deliverance from our evils. According to them, man is wholly good and is well-disposed to his neighbour; but the institution of private property has corrupted his nature. The ownership of private wealth gives the individual power, and with it the temptation to ill-treat his neighbour; while the man who is excluded from possession is bound to rebel in hostility against his oppressor. If private property were abolished, all wealth held in common, and everyone allowed to share in the enjoyment of it, ill-will and hostility would disappear among men. Since everyone’s needs would be satisfied, no one would have any reason to regard another as his enemy; all would willingly undertake the work that was necessary. I have no concern with any economic criticisms of the communist system; I cannot enquire into whether the abolition of private property is expedient or advantageous.* But I am able to recognize that the psychological premisses on which the system is based are an untenable illusion. In abolishing private property we deprive the human love of aggression of one of its instruments, certainly a strong one, though certainly not the strongest; but we have in no way altered the differences in power and influence which are misused by aggressiveness, nor have we altered anything in its nature. Aggressiveness was not created by property. It reigned almost without limit in primitive times, when property was still very scanty, and it already shows itself in the nursery almost before property has given up its primal, anal form; it forms the basis of every relation of affection and love among people (with the single exception, perhaps, of the mother’s relation to her male child). If we do away with personal rights over material wealth, there still remains prerogative in the field of sexual relationships, which is bound to become the source of the strongest dislike and the most violent hostility among men who in other respects are on an equal footing. If we were to remove this factor, too, by allowing complete freedom of sexual life and thus abolishing the family, the germ-cell of civilization, we cannot, it is true, easily foresee what new paths the development of civilization could take; but one thing we can expect, and that is that this indestructible feature of human nature, will follow it there. How would you respond to this?

new Multitude- Coup Edition

Hi, New Multitude is an online magazine for left writers across the globe. We are non sectarian and so you may not agree with everything we publish, but we are committed to bringing forward new voices. In the past year we have published articles from Uk, Hungary, Sudan, Myanmar, Brazil, Singapore and we are always looking for more! Either if it's a guide to a country's political scene/potential or on the ground reporting or an application of theory..we need you! [email protected] (new normiebook page!) (NM has no sponsors or corporate backing, please consider a small solidarity donation if you can afford it and appreciate the content. If not, no problem, nothing is paywalled|) BRAND NEW ARTICLE on the Myanmar Coup. Please read and share if you want to understand the political economy of the coup. >Perhaps the idea of the ‘bloc’ was always flawed at one level, given that as long as the Tatmadaw remain an autonomous militia unaccountable to anyone but themselves, an elite partnership is an ontological impossibility. Nevertheless, the institutional oppositions of the power elite are conducted on a platform built on a broad consensus (or doxa) of a political economy based on extractive capitalism and a centralized Bamar-State. (on a side note, if anyone would like to show solidarity with Myanmar activists by buying them a VPN, please contact me) NEW ORIGINAL TRANSLATION The Crisis of Developmentalism by Ruy Mauro Marini (translated from Spanish)

Religion, kinnies, and anti-empiricism

Why are there so many leftists on the internet who are into the supernatural or religious or other irrational beliefs that are contradictory to the most fundamental parts of marxism (dialectical materialism, empiricism)? The most annoying and egregious example is kinnies. Probably the absolute worst of the worst when it comes to online idpol but I never see them brought up even once on leftypol. Maybe I just hang out in the wrong parts of the internet but every leftist space on the internet except here is filled with kinnies, who believe themselves to be reincarnations of fictional characters. These beliefs are relatively new, originating around the 2000's, and didn't really explode until the 2010's, when idpol became huge in the left. There's even people who believe themselves to be witches and try to cast hexes on politicians. This isn't even mentioning christianity, which is bigger than all the other spiritual beliefs combined, but at least has an excuse for sticking around since a huge part of the west grew up in a christian household. Marxism is empiricist and materialist in nature. Why are there so many people in left-wing spaces online who think that they're witches, or homestuck characters, or worship gods, or believe in magic? I feel like I'm going crazy whenever I see them making claims about shit like this completely unchallenged.
