Comrade Admin 01/21/2020 (Tue) 17:19:13 No. 1
Welcome to /roulette/, Bunkerchan's roulette board! This board will be used for testing out new board ideas, based on the example of 7chan's /777/ board. The guidelines are as follows: -The countdown will begin as soon as the board is added to the top bar and will last for one month. -After a month, if the board has garnered enough posts on that month's topic, it will be made into a new board (barring any legitimate objections by the moderation team) and the threads will be moved there. Off-topic and spam posts will not count. Board ideas that do not meet this requirement will be shelved, with the possibility of being revisited later. -New board ideas can be suggested in the /gulag/ thread for /roulette/. This month's board topic is: /a/ - Anime.

>/tech/ >"new" board
Isn't is a problem for the board visibility that the name in the upper bar is shown as roulette and not as the name of the board that it's currently being tried out (e.g. tech)?
>>23 Yeah. Why not change it to /tech/ for a month?
>>23 Not really. People are going to check out the board out of curiosity and see what it is and that it is currently, /tech/. The concept of a random board needs to be, itself, visible.
>>28 > People are going to check out the board out of curiosity and see what it is and that it is currently, /tech/ Not entirely convinced, if that were the case then why isn't there more people checking and posting on boards with "obscure" name like /GET/ or /ref/? My fear is that the lack of visibility for the trial boards would generate a bias in the selection process due to "false negatives" e.g. a board would be rejected due to low post numbers which would not reflect a lack of interest within Bunkerchan's userbase (which is principally /leftypol/) but rather the fact that it was poorly advertised in the site itself. Not that I think it matters for /tech/ because the numbers were already low when it existed and was clearly visible but for the next potential trial boards like /his/, /lit/ or /v/ it could be a problem.
>>30 Mmm, I see your point. I think announcements in leftypol about what is the current roulette board would suffice? no?
>>31 Well, that could be a solution but I think the /leftypol/ mod team is not too keen on cluttering the board with pinned threads. Maybe Comatoast could chime in and tell us how they made it work over at 7chan? Personally, I would be in favor of temporally renaming this board with the trial board's name e.g. /tech/ - Roulette (or Trial Board) instead of /roulette/ - Tech Anyways, my main point is that the current trial board should be clearly advertised to be given a fair chance, however it is done.
>>1 >(barring any legitimate objections by the moderation team) Fuck you. Mods are there to keep shit off the board, not our leaders. What kind of shit is this?
>>35 On 7chan there was just an understood nature of the board. We also announce what ever new board is rolling on the wheel that month; we actually have an announcements section, though. We use kusabaX over there not lynxchan. I think everyone would benefit from an announcements section on the front page. Now that I'm thinking about it. Of course implementation of that and talking about it arw two different things. Rat ia the one who gets his hands dirty Currently.
>>45 You're an admin of 7chan? Space has spacechan... >tfw you realise bunkerchan is run by PROFESSIONAL imageboard mods No wonder nothing gets done. Too busy smelling their own farts and circlejerking on IRC.
>>47 No I'm just a mod at 7chan.
>>45 I think an announcement section would actually be a really good idea and if it isn't technically too bothersome to implement maybe you could bring this proposition to be voted on among the mod team?
>>48 The point stands.
>>49 I will talk to rat about it. I think we had a short discourse about it already in the beginning of October
>>47 >Nothing gets done. He said from the warmth of his newboard in his bunker that facilitated the life of leftypol in the wake of a catastrophic meltdown of 8chan.
>>52 sure will be put on the backlog as an easy somewhat high priority thing
>>60 Thank you Based Comrade Rat, hope life (and porkies) haven't been recently treating you too badly.
When and how the new trial board next month will be selected?
>>150 Sorry this response took so long: From my understanding we are doing them on a monthly basis. This boards trail run is up on the 27th of feb. Currently we appear to be check listing it; starting with tech then his etc etc etc. Pretty sure his is up next.
>>255 Forgot my trips
>>256 Thank you.
>New board ideas can be suggested in the /gulag/ thread for /roulette/. Sorry, for stating the obvious but there's no /gulag/ thread for this board. Where should I post board ideas?
>>258 I would bring them too /gulag/ itself or to the mod sticky.
>>1 Can somebody explain to me why the fuck is everyting announced only on /gulag/? Isn't /leftypol/ the board with the more traction? Also: You just killed HA! /dead/ and /tech/... why do you want new boards again? And how many posts are considered to be viable for the new board to form? What if the new board will siphon off a huge amount of people from another board (e.g.: Now we have /tech/ here but if it wins it's freedom nobody - who wants to post there - would check on /hobby/ )? How many boards do you want to create in total?
>>276 Not everything is announced only in gulag. Roulette was announced in the mod thread dawg. The thread is just so fast; leftypol only has more traction because users refuse to give otherboards traction.
>>255 >Pretty sure his is up next. Thank you!
>>276 >nobody - who wants to post there - would check on /hobby/ tech stuff is a job for a lot of people comrade
Save the roulette girl thread admins!
What is gonna be next month's theme after /his/? Is there going to be a vote or is it already decided?
(146.23 KB 881x1080 881px-Painting_of_David_Hume.jpg)
Is /his/ also for humanities, like 4chan's /his/ board? I think it should be.
Are we going to include an actual link to /tech/ at the top already, or are we trying to kill /tech/ in the crib again?
>>545 Yell at space
>>546 Where?
>>547 Anywhere

one anon ( >626 ) requested i make a banner with fenya so i threw this together real quick
Won’t all the post links break when you move all the threads to the new board?
>>659 That's been fixed, I think

Maybe next roulette could be /edu/
>>715 education?

(49.74 KB 300x100 Yui_scoring_100_points.png)
>>715 >>734 >>749 /edu/ should just be what gets made now that history is shown to be a bit slow. Can we not have multiple roulette boards setup at once? I hate the idea of having to wait another month to get boards that people clearly are wanting now just because of this arbitrary means testing rule of one board at a time.
>>750 Having multiple roulette boards would take away traffic from one another, no?
>>765 Do you know when the topic will change?
>>766 In the next few days and the next board will be /v/ - video games. Stay tuned.
So, here's the deal, guys. Space is the only one who can push front end changes, as many of you are aware I am sure. Currently he is down a computer && because of the recent covid-19 outbreaks across the globe, as you can expect, it's not like he can just mosey on down to the library and do what needs to be done. We are having conversations about creating /edu/ right now and will be changing boards as soon as space is available to push the changes through. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope everyone is doing well out there! -Coma
>>774 Knowing the good-guy mod is a leftcom makes me happi.

>>734 better version I made of this
Ok, so, I am going to go ahead and change the roulette. Everyone held a vote on what board should be next and the board that came out was /v/ so, that being said, the next board on roulette will be /v/. As for the fate of /his/ I am going to move threads from /his/ to a locked board until we figure out what is going on with /edu/. Thank you for your participation. Solidarity~

>>790 Why don't you turn anti-childporn filter on? I've been seeing few cp posts on leftypol for couple of months now.
>>798 There is no "anti child porn" filter. We have a series of ban lists for spammers and offenders. But, any retard can still upload anything they want. We just have to catch them as they come. This discussion is more suited for /gulag/ tho, please/ >>796 It's time was up 6 days ago. New spin on the roulette wheel, friends. As I stated, I have everything for history on a locked board so when and if we decide to implement /edu/ then I can move all the posts there.
>>799 >But, any retard can still upload anything they want. We just have to catch them as they come. Sad
>>1 >still haven't edited the board topic on the sticky
If somebody wants to make a "Piracy general" I have a starting point. Personally, I can't be bothered to make a full proper post because I hate modern games too much. The way I see it... If you are going to engage in blatant consumerism, the least you can do is not enable rent seeking corporations to profit off imaginary property made by long gone workers decades ago. But you aren't really sticking it to the man if you are just sitting on your ass passively consuming entertainment, read some damn books too: https://libgen.is/ Downloads: https://archive.org/ https://cdromance.com/ https://www.emurom.net/us/roms.html https://the-eye.eu/public/rom/ https://edgeemu.net/ https://vimm.net/?p=vault https://www.emuparadise.me/ Need: https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/968sm6/a_script_for_easy_downloading_of_emuparadise_roms/ https://www.romulation.org/ More: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/ROM_%26_ISO_Sites Image Verification: http://redump.org/ https://www.no-intro.org/ Some flash carts if you are into that thing: https://www.amazon.com/EXSEK-EZFlash-Cartridge-gameboy-advance/dp/B01ALF0BKM https://krikzz.com/store/ https://bennvenn.myshopify.com/collections/flash-carts https://store.kitsch-bent.com/category/cartridges-programmers Ones to keep an eye on: https://shop.dansprojects.com/gc-loader-pnp.html https://shop.terraonion.com/en/ https://ps-io.com/news/

>>860 I have bad news for you anon. This is like telling medival pesantry not to eat break because it was harvested by serfs that had to pay taxes to the king. While i'm not against piracy, ofc, I still think all this crying about coomers having fun and not 100% of the time focusing on theory posting is myopic and a bit misguided.
>>863 I was suggesting doing both. All work and no play, however that goes. Otherwise I wouldn't have shared terabytes of games...
So what should the next test board, in your opinion, for /roulette/ be after /v/? I think a /theory/ board, focused on "effort" posts, with a high minimal character count for the OP and higher max message length, would be nice.
>>907 I think we should discuss theory in the open on /leftypol/ where everyone can benefit from it, instead of people going to a niche board to jerk themselves off.
>>928 Is there literally anything you people think doesn't belong on leftypol?
>>907 history board
>>907 anime board
>>1058 The history board is part of /edu/.
>>1058 We did that already last month. It didn't make the cut so it got condensed into a /edu/ with science and lit (but for some reason the team refuses to move the sticky from leftypol over to edu for now)
>>907 porn board
>>1142 what he said uh i think that would be real dick i mean dope hahaha
I had a dream that this board changed its subject already. I can't remember the topic because it's been several hours now.
>>1331 hope it was made into a tiddies board. go back to sleep white man
>>1142 This
Remember to include a timely link to our new board at the website header level after you migrate all the topics there this time. Also no one asked for a tabletop games board, that was never the subject or deal for this month's roulette. Stop trying to shove extra topics alongside stuff, that was the main criticism of the /hobby/ board to begin with.
Is this anime board also for visual novels, 2hu and pictures of cute anime boys and girls? What about dating sims and anime-style video game fanart?
>>1528 If you want to post about em' sure. It's not like there's much people posting right now. Maybe this should be /weeb/ for general otaku culture.
>>1383 It's there in the Bunkerchan Frontend, it just takes a million years to update for some reason.
If /a/ survives this month, for the love of god change the default name to at least オタク in katakana (although it's still cringe) Better name would be the traditional 名無し
名無しさん 名無しさん@掩壕ch 名無しヲタク 名無しオタク
>名無しさん@掩壕ch I like it
It has now been over two weeks since /games/ was created and there is still no link to the board on the top navigation. Unsurprisingly, new posts on /games/ have slowed to a trickle. I really get the feeling the administration is trying to kill new boards in their infancy.
>>1700 It appears seemingly at random sometimes. The site software is just shit.
I hope /a/ sticks around. I know 2d/Leftist discord and former /leftyweebpol/ posters would like it.
(1.42 MB 2048x1810 1589734709771.jpg)
>>1725 I'm.just afraid we won't have enough traffic to make it. Man, I really don't want to talk about people on /a/ about anime.
>>1733 If the lazy faggot mods on leftypol actually transferred the anime thread to /hobby/ or /a/ this would probably increase a bit. Also letting people know about the new /a/ board is important. /GET/ is a source of many weebs so try to get their attention in the waning days of May.
So are we getting a porn theme for roulette next month as >>1142 anon suggested
>>1767 Since we have a reactionary mod team possessed by protestant morality, probably not.
>>1792 >mods >reactionary >protestant They defend furries and refuse to move hobby threads... they're liberals
(57.29 KB 373x541 gwen question mark.jpg)
How do we know if /a/ board can/will get made? I don't want to lose the threads made this May and while slow... so is the entire chan.
>>1797 This assumes the mods are even here and doing their jobs... seeing how no questions are answered or reports acted upon...
>>1821 /a/ will stay
>>2044 Is it gonna be called /leftyweeb/ or someething like that?
I want to see if it works or nah >>>/a/
>>2173 It hasn't been made yet, otherwise all the threads would be transferred there.
What happened?
Why not make /a/ the weeb general board? Talk about hentai (TALK not post), talk about manga & light novels, talk about visual novels, etc.
>>2266 Double-checked /a/ IS going to be a weeb general, there just isn't a new roulette topic so until then /a/ is here.
>>2266 So, /jp/?
>>2266 Because I don't wanna wade through a tsunami of weeaboo bullshit, I wanna talk about anime and manga. What about topical boards is so hard for people to understand?
>>2270 >I wanna talk about anime and manga That's literally what he's saying tho
>>2270 >tsunami Not with how slow this board is.
>>2280 The board is slow because roulette itself is slow, not a lot of people know /a/ is currently on roulette or what roulette even is.
>>2270 >>2284 You're never at risk of having to wade through a tsunami anywhere in this site, get real. Even leftypol isn't nearly that active.
