Decembrist revolutionaires and Pushkin himself frequented “Tatarinova.” According to some sources, Pushkin was flagellant.

The National Bolshevik Party was genuine opposition, it also removed all its genuine fascistic elements early in its existence.
Limonov basically takes Georges Sorel belief that national myths were key to collective action and mixed it with the old soviet marxist leninism. I don't think he's a retarded reactionary, his solution was based around the post-soviet world.

Anytime someone attacks someone else for being "nazbol" you know that they have never read Limonov, never mind even Dugin, and that the characterization of "socially conservative fiscally left wing" has never made any sense for these people since they are at the avant-garde of social progressivism (Dugin's ex wife is literally a lesbian). And that's not even mentioning their anti-religious views. Dugin was involved in satanic cults earlier in his life and Limonov never gave a shit about the Orthodox church (he literally divorced his wife ASAP after being forced to get married in a church).

It's rooted in National-Syndicalism, Corporatism and Italian Futurism.
I guess all it took for Leninists and their likes to support it was to be more subtle about their racialist underbelly. Since the National Bolshevik party's figurehead did not explicitly share those views it's way easier to do analysis on him rather than the mass of supporters who plaster Nordic Crosses and White Pride stickers on the streets.

I used to be a fan of his back in the Exile days when he had his own column there; still somewhat am but at the end of the day, he was an idealist schizo with no real plan for exercising power. It took Georges Sorel concept of using national myths to unify the workers and then used it to try and create a class collaborationist state, not one that did away with class.
Limonov went to New York and realised that there was no democracy or freedom and that individualism and the destruction of the old industries (which brought about collective labor unions) had gone away. It was getting harder and harder to unify the masses.
I am not a NazBol. But Limonovs decision to use nationalism as a tool for collective action makes sense.
