35-year old hag here.
Yes, I watched this show as a little kid. My little brother was obsessed with it and had all the action figures. My mother is an art hoe, so she was impressed that the turtles were named after famous artists.

most cartoon hero shows from the 1980s and early 90s were whack.

I like the design of the 80s turtles but I wish they had some of the Mirage comics edge

>>40314Same, I had multiple VHS tapes. Also had all 3 movies and the first two eps of the live action show, that was terrible. The first movie was really good at least.

Most cartoons were shit back then
Hell most still are but in a different way.
Just watch secret of nimh and admire the fx animation they mastered for it.

Early 2000 cartoon better and 2012 was pretty neat too, back in the time at least.

ninja turtles always felt like something you'd see in a fake commercial in a movie when i was a kid i could never get into it

Turtles in Time, the Manhattan Project, and now Shredder's revenge are easily the best legacy that franchise ever had

>>40324>ninja turtles always felt like something you'd see in a fake commercial in a movieThat's because Eastman wanted to write a parody of Daredevil but took it too seriously and made Daredevil with turtles instead. The earliest art of Mickelangelo was actually hilarious, reminds me of how Imaishi came up with Panty and Stocking while being drunk as fuck with his friend.

>>40345The comics were grittier, the originals anyway. Still love the 80s version though… also it holds a special place in my heart just for the fact that Nunchuks depicted in it triggered the Thatcherite British broadcasters.

>>40329Nu-/co/ is dumb.
03 one was good and closer to the mirage comics in some ways. The 80s turtles are goofy as hell but that’s supposed to be its charm. I like both for different reasons.
