fbi.gov added a "forum chat" (basically threaded conversations) feature lmfao

 No.16812

Fuck I forgot about the wordfilter

 No.16813

The good thing about having your forum, anonymous board, or subreddit separate from the IRC, Skype, or Disscord is that one could theoretically keep the other in check.

However, merging the two will either be really bad or really stupid.

This is what I've always hated about PrivacyShills.
"WHY ARE YOU NOT USING A SUPER DUPER 100% SECURE/PRIVATE PLATFORM TO SEND HENTAIS TO YOUR FRIEND!!!"
yes because not everything is meant to be hidden, why should I give a shit about privacy when I have nothing to hide most of the times and when I actually do, I'll just fire up the Tor browser?

 No.16815

I was looking at this piece of software that could supposedly crack old software semi manually but when I checked on how it works (didn't even include a readme file) it just linked me to some pisscord room

 No.16818

The big thing I hate about it is that it requires a cell phone to verify your account if for any reason they distrust it. So now I can even lurk on fbi.gov boards anymore.

>why should I give a shit about privacy when I have nothing to hide
<glow agency talking point, word for word
this glows so bright

Privacy is not something that has to be justified.
Everybody that is questioning privacy is suspect.
Privacy is an essential part of being a human.

The people conducting this creepy surveillance shit are the ones that have to explain them selves.
They are basically stalking children, are they pedophiles ?
When they are stalking adults, we can't really rule out that they aren't scoping out victims for their crimes.

>WHY ARE YOU NOT USING A SUPER DUPER 100% SECURE/PRIVATE PLATFORM

If you think about it, every platform should be secure and private, there should be no extra effort required.
I get it, this can be a technical challenge, but in principle there is no reason to have insecure or non-private communication.

I would stay away from this if you can, but if you really have to

try using something like the Lightcord client
https://github.com/Lightcord/Lightcord

There are tons of other alternative clients, do you own research i never used any of this and am not vouching for it, i just read the features list and it said it had privacy features.

Thanks but I found a thread discussing the software which had somebody's own instruction file he had made

 No.16834

The best privacy solution, if one is American, that doesn't also make communication itself difficult due to an excess of unfriendly security features would probably be to use Telegram or whatever the Russian app is. The FSB isn't a problem in that case and the company has incentive to glowie proof it. Plus, it is convenient enough to be of real use. Technically the best digital security is to not use any digital channels and only use physical methods, but no one is gonna agree to that level of paranoia so easily which defeats the initial purpose of communication. There is no such security which is absolute, so have some humility. Tech won't save a person as well as good comrades can.

telegram is less private than fucking whatsapp lmfao
signal isnt difficult to use, the problem is that very few people use it compared to the others

XMPP with OMEMO already exists, and it's just as simple as installing a plugin in Gajim or Pidgin, however that is hecking privacysuffixed and FOSSsuffixed and not hecking multipolarist so nvm
BTW you don't think "physical methods" can be bugged, or a rat involved? Might as well use telepathy, then

This is delusional masturbatory cope, and it's not because le normies are too stupid or whatevernon. Perhaps FOSS has decent goals, but is quite idealist and thus doomed to fail in capitalism. At least it's not as cucked as the tech corporation astroturfed open source initiatives though.
