AMLO did it right, tell the "intersectionality" types to fuck off unless they bring anything to the table. I love Bernie, but he shoulda had some balls, at least tried to reign in these people a bit. That time he let those ladies take his mic? Embarrassing. If they wanted to speak they could have done so without making a scene and making you look weak to all the other dems.

With types like Boric and a lot of other leftists in Latam, I have seen that they are basically pretending like they are Americans. It's not like Latam doesn't have problems about race and gender and queer stuff but, the class issues and overall poverty are way more present on the average person that any of that, even in the big cities. That's why AMLO and Lula did it right, they focus on the actual base that votes, older people, pensioners, 40 something working class. Sure the young are radical, but they don't commit, and they get too much into the intersectionality stuff that always leads to infighting.

Same thing here in Brazil, no other president has advanced more women and LGBT rights than Lula but, sometimes, he would say some boomer joke about gays or did not choose every single supreme justice as a black women so liberals called him machista sometimes. Now it's the opposite, he filled his third government with "lacradores" (our SJWs) but the far-right is passing every single regressive law they want. But hey, now we have gender netrual pronouns in official texts and twerking in the Health Minister.

I think there were a lot of "normies" in the U.S. in those demographics who liked Bernie! But he couldn't close to deal with them, and it became clear he wasn't going to win by mobilizing huge numbers of young voters to Pokemon go to the polls. I'm not sure how much of that mistaken commitment was due to him or his senior staff.

>I think there were a lot of "normies" in the U.S. in those demographics who liked Bernie
They like Bernie but they believe he is unrealistic and Bernie did not help by being the "old Jewish hipster who is cool with the kids". Some of those boomers saw McGovern all over again and chose the "stable" candidate. Bernies message was not effective and did not use his bully pulpit at all. He ended up surrendering to the DNC and blackpilling his supporters that are still quite divided to this day. He didn't question the election at all and he had momentum. He also said he didn't want to go down in history as the guy that made Trump president who will end democracy. Well Trump governed like an average GOP president with more spectacle and Bernie lost all his leverage.

The protestors in particular being the parents and classmates of rural students who were massacred by the Mexican State years ago and whose case (along with many other "mysterious" disappearances) AMLO is desperately trying to hide under the rug, despite making it a campaign promise that he would solve it and bring the perpetrators to justice. Did you also happen to know that one of the students who participated in the "historic" door incident ended up being shot to death by the police a couple days later? Funny how that works.

There's a group that wants him as president, but sadly he might be too old 6 years for now. He's from the same political coalition of Sheinbaum.
