Imperial guns don’t function like guns, they’re products meant to arbitrarily increase consumption rates and it shows in how they’re designed. Ironically enough having so many attachments to such a basic as shit rifle only makes it harder for any trained shooter to use the damn thing without damaging any of its pointless features, especially when in firefights. Meanwhile guns from decades ago still function just fine along with vehicles. Really makes you recognize the importance of drones, surveillance and hit and run tactics in modern warfare.

I don't know if the man holding the gun is a real spec ops or a cosplayer with too much money burning his hands, but that config is pretty sensible. A compact gun in .300BLK is roughly analogous to Soviet AS Val and is intended for short-range CT/SWAT/sabotage-reconnaissance work, where typical contact distance is 2 to 150 m and user is expected to fight both outdoors and indoors. Flashlight is for indoors combat, its utility is threefold: it lights some dark hallway, as expected, it dazzles the opponent, and it serves as ultra close range laser sight, central brighter spot in the beam showing point of aim.

Attached is AS Val of Russian internal forces specnaz operator known as k-a-r-d-e-n ( https://k-a-r-d-e-n.livejournal.com/ )

It should be noted you NEVER use a flashlight during the night. It is a homing beacon for enemy fire, your team will be instantly unmasked and hosed with all the firepower enemy got.

>Moreover in the OP pic it's glaring hot sunlight, yet the fucker has a flashlight mounted when all it serves is to unbalance the gun, since you don't need the flashlight in the open fucking desert in daytime. or whatever open space we're seeing here.
It's really more trouble than it's worth to be detaching and reattaching a flashlight to a gun

They've tested it on a number of electronics, no doubt left by their neighbors as they fled from a series of unexplainable explosions.

>Microwave weapons, also known as high energy radio frequency weapons, are not as uncommon as one might think and desperately hope. Besides entertaining mad Ukrainians in their backyard, they're used to disrupt or destroy digital equipment. It's as simple as aiming a beam at the thing you want to fry. It's also important to remember that energy like this doesn't necessarily need a clear line of sight. It can, for example, work through a wall or even a floor with enough power. So, if you've got 10 minutes and know exactly where your annoying neighbor's stereo is …

People talks a lot about having guns and being armed but I don't see anyone talking about training, organizing and acquiring equipment other than guns and ammo.
Why don't we go camping and pretend to be soldiers in campaign? That has to be better than just shooting at cans.

The only useful thing I can figure about them is that they make it harder to identify where the source of gunfire is coming from(assuming the shooter is far away enough from whatever they’re shooting at). I believe this because I’m aware that the Doppler effect would make it obvious to anyone near the shot that someone’s firing even if a suppressor did a good enough job a drowning out the source of the shot and most don’t even do that. The only other reason I can think of for making these is for ear protection but then again why not just wear plugs?

they extend the barrel. so no. well engineered ones are a plus accuracy wise. the one downside is higher moment of inertia since you have all that mass at the end of your barrel

 No.3846

>>3843
Increased recoil compared to good muzzle brake, increased gas venting into the receiver (and in your face, depending on the gun), increased fouling, decreased barrel ventilation.
>>3844
By insignificant amount - about 2 to 5 m/s, as secondary action of powder gases, when they push the bullet after it left the barrel, is greatly diminished.
>>3845
>they extend the barrel
Common misconception. Instead of going forward gases are redirected and turbulised, so extension is useless.

 No.3847

>>3846
>Increased recoil compared to good muzzle brake
aren't muzzle brakes terrible if you have people nearby?
>increased gas venting into the receiver
not a problem with bolt action rifles, which is the point of view I'm coming from
>Instead of going forward gases are redirected and turbulised
compared to a barrel of the same total length, sure. but they're typically added to the end of an existing barrel, and you can't seriously be telling me that gas just venting into the open air provides more acceleration compared to being semi-contained in a suppressor

question from a Marxist in training who lives in a third world country where the gun laws are so extreme that it is easier to buy a gun from the narcos than to get a car from the gringos who go to the Wallmark and buy 17 AR15s with milk.

First of all, yes, the 17 AR15 is ironic, but it is undeniable that it is easier for you to get firearms, the question is, what is your position on the position of weapons? It is obvious that the weapons are necessary to keep the class enemies back but under the current context? Also about 3d printed weapons, are they an alternative to not participating in the arms market? I await your response because it really is a topic that makes noise in my brain.

 No.3769

As an Pakistani, I feel like I'm the only third-worlder who has more in common with Americans than any other region regarding the role of firearms. They are plentiful, and you can get a license in a few weeks. People buy firearms all the time; however, full-automatics are banned (though people still have them, and no one cares). Gun law debates are never up for debate because there are so many illegally made firearms (mostly AKs and Tokarev pistols) that it would not make a difference if they were banned

It's one of the worst military firearms since WWII, only somewhat surpassed in badness by the INSAS but with even less excuses.
the FAMAS is also neat but has serious problems like the fact that it cannot fire standard NATO ammunition, didn't use standard NATO magazines, and was a mess of parts if it needed to be opened past field strip.

>A shotgun (also known as a scattergun, or historically as a fowling piece) is a long-barreled firearm designed to shoot a straight-walled cartridge known as a shotshell, which usually discharges numerous small pellet-like spherical sub-projectiles called shot, or sometimes a single solid projectile called a slug. Shotguns are most commonly smoothbore firearms, meaning that their gun barrels have no rifling on the inner wall, but rifled barrels for shooting slugs (slug barrels) are also available.

The shotgun is thought of as being an extremely basic firearm but it is also very versatile and powerful. It can shoot loads that allow you to hunt small game, large game, from birdshot to buckshot, to even rifled slugs that basically turn your shotgun into a rifle, also works good for home defense and even military applications (think WW1 trench guns).

People have a misleading sense of how much spread shotguns have especially in video games where they magically become ineffective after 10 feet meanwhile in real life hunters regularly kill animals with buckshot at far greater distances.
