Hopefully the standards of prize events in the Loicenced Kingdom will continue being irrelevant within the general industry as companies are likely perceptive to the detrimental risk to the appeal of their goods that following such a framework would possibly bring.

Can someone explain to me what the fuck Warframe is about? It's setting, plot and characters? Is it cyberpunk or something cyborg fetishism or something else?

Aren't video games a most perfect realization of the spectacle? I fail to think of anything which has made a "concrete inversion of life" so effectively as video games. More than this it seems to exhaust all who play them of the tribulations of life there by converting them into the most significant population of last men to date. Recognizing this it follows that video games are only useful to the extent to which we can make games capable of waking their viewer to the theft of their life by the bourgeoisie, both in terms of surplus value extraction, and in terms of the spectacle.

It's entirely possible that many here could team up to make a game capable of waking its viewers to the theft of their life by the bourgeoisie, both in terms of surplus value extraction, and in terms of the spectacle. While making a quality 3D game is much more challenging it is possible to get good results with GPL engines as that screen shot shows. Even if nothing else it is a productive direction for leftists with this affliction to pursue, and on a personal level resist the spectacle and alienation.

Any ideas for plot or mechanics of a game of this sort?

Opinions on RimWorld? Not OP 10/16/2020 (Fri) 20:02:25 No. 5290 [Reply]
I think it's a really good game about managing a small community of individuals with different skills, needs and personalities. Warfare in RimWorld is fucking terrifying because every warrior is a guy you have spent hours with, you understand their importance, you know of their relationships, you understand their personalities and if they die theres a true sense or loss there. Vanilla is pretty barren, but there are excellent mods for this. Much recommended for any leftyanon

isn’t this just DF for casuals?
>>6560 Yes, but also with a bigger emphasis on base deffence
>>5290 Rimjob
>>6560 Not really, the two have a similar premise but focus on completely different things. Dwarf Fortress is a simulation of a fantasy world and Rimworld is more "arcadey" if that makes sense.

Anybody play Wreckfest? One of the only newer racing games I've liked
What's so great about it?
>>6558 My limousine for example, soft body physics, relatively good destruction and tricky handling make you want come back for more. Also online play is good from my experience. You could join a server and BTFO the serious racers by having all the lads choose school buses. At least until they vote to kick the lot of you lol

>>6562 Based Rammer RS, i play on Xbox unfortunately because that's what the homies are on and limited internet connection

Hello everyone, after some serious temptation due to watching various militaria channels for some months I think I'm gonna finally jump on the bandwagon and try WT/WoT. Does anyone have experience with these kind of games? How badly exactly am I gonna get fucked by premium/longtime players? I did some searches and it seems most people agree that WT is much more realistic and simulator-y than WoT which is good cause I'd like to try realism. So, that's the one I'm downloading right now, but does anyone else have a different opinion on it? In addition, I know there's probably a huge amount of affiliate new member deals out there but does anyone know what one is the best I can use currently, ideally linked to a good YT channel that deserves it? If not I can just search for it but hey. General advice for getting started (or why I shouldn't)?

>>6514 after WT I can never play a tank or plane game with healthbars.
>>6516 Eh, it wouldn't alleviate the main thing with cumbersome metal boxes chugging slowly until they happen to behind someone or be behind someone themselves. There's no outplaying or skill beside the ability to outdrive and not be outdriven at extremely low speeds and knowing all the camper spots. Except in this proposed gamemode it would be even more dumbed down. Tanks just can't be fun not in the game, not in real life.

I'm curious, if the USSR was still around, assuming it would still exist, how different would WoT be? (Considering it was made in Belarus)
>>6548 Assuming that it gets created in the first place, nothing much TBH.

Chess Anonymous 08/06/2020 (Thu) 16:16:48 No. 3544 [Reply]
I'm making this thread here, because the other boards are practically dead. If a mod chooses to move it to /hobby/, that's cool, I just wanted some exposure on /leftypol/. As you might now, chess played a large role in the Soviet Union. They outright dominated the game for decades and it was commonly played ever since the inception of the union. I think chess does possess the potential to develop and train the strategic thinking skills of players, if they abstract from the game and attempt to apply it to the real world. But it's also a fun game. Because of that I made a /leftypol/ club on chess.com, which is a great website with a nice UI and plenty of resources to learn and improve at chess. I've been using it for months now and got far better at chess and I even do the puzzles on it for fun every day. The way the website is designed makes learning chess and improving really, really easy. Making an account is free and would be quick. I know this sounded like an ad, lol. So, I'm inviting you comrades to start learning chess or improve whatever skill level you are at and join the /leftypol/ chess club. We could play against each other. Perhaps even organize tournaments. I think it would be really cool if we could get something like this going and make it the community wide hobby. If only 3 people join that would be good enough honestly. Link https://www.chess.com/club/leftypol

>>3567 >>3574 Honestly it sounds like a correlation = causation fallacy. Smarter people perform better in aspects of strategy, so it makes sense that a genius on the battlefield would have problem solving skills that transfer over into other aspects of life. I bet great war generals would have been better at, say, magic the gathering than average joe.
>>3574 I think that's just some cool Chinese aesthetic - Go has also been used by the Chinese to describe their Maritime policies in SEA. I wouldn't look too much into it.

>>6258 Deep Rock Galactic kind of fits. No story to speak of per se, Grapics are low poly but well made, and isn't "realistic" drab grays. Definitely has controller support, and is very replayable since the levels are randomly generated. Only way it differs from your list of requested features is that it is also multiplayer. However you can defiitely play it singleplayer and you get a (literal) bot that will help you out if you only do solo mode, and there isn't really any content locked out if you are playing singleplayer.

>>5168 this man speaks truth
>>5143 It's basically this. I still enjoyed the game, but I was underwhelmed given the people that worked on it.
>>5347 I'm the guy who made that post and to be fair according to the devs the game barely had any budget. It was more of a passion project than anything else.
I've been trying to complete this game since it released and I can rarely bring myself to play it, and when it I do it's rarely for more than a half hour. The humor is just so fucking grating. Nothing is ever taken seriously. Futurama and Rick & Morty are an enjoyable format for <30min segments. Not for hours of open world gameplay wherein every character is the butt of some joke. I really want to enjoy it, I also really want to finish the main story, but I just want the jokes to fucking stop.
>>6499 I think this is a big problem with modern writing, the constant dumb jokes and nothing ever being taken seriously. There's moments for humour and moments for seriousness but these people can never take it seriously. I mean soldiers like to have fun and goof off and shit when they're just waiting around but when they're in actual combat? No, they get serious and cold-blooded and shit.
